Canal Square Apt. Review

Overall it is very coinvent to live at Canal Square. Right across the street from the law school, literally can't live closer. The maintenance is reasonably timely, leasing agents are nice. We found the unit to be clean and well kept. Plenty of space at a reasonable rate.

Older, but great.

The biggest downside is that these are older apartments. However, that does not outweigh the ability to walk across the street to get to class.

Great place to live!

The location is fantastic, management is responsive, and the amenities are great. The fact that it’s right across the school is amazing!

Canal Square

The convenience of Canal Square cannot be understated. Easy access to school, downtown, and anything else you could want. Though, it is an older building. There are emergency water shut offs fairly regularly, but they don't usually last long. That being said, maintenance is great at communicating and fixes problems quickly and easily.

Okay not great

Management is not the best, kind of unorganized. Get an apartment overlooking the canal to make it worthwhile. Rent is expensive for out of date units but they are making improvements

Being able to walk and exercise on the canal is really nice, especially during breaks from school. It is really quiet and hard to believe you are downtown. Depending on which side of the apartment you live on, you could have great views and natural light.

This neighborhood is great because you have so many walking options and are in the best part of downtown. I never have to drive anywhere because I can even walk to the grocery store. It can be a little dangerous at night but if you're aware of your surroundings you will be fine.

There's basically nothing around besides the Canal, so it's a really quiet area that I feel safe in.

During the day, the canal is very pretty and there are lots of things around the canal to do. At night...just don't. The crime is very bad and I will not go outside past dark.
