Basically the "Kellogg Dorm"
Optima Horizons is a great condo building that's just a short walk to Kellogg and also well positioned to everything in Downtown Evanston. About half of the building is occupied by Kellogg students, which means that there's always someone around if you need help with classwork, need to borrow a screwdriver, or just want to find friends to hang out with. The rent is a little on the higher side, especially if you are living alone, but the units are generally very nice, clean, and up-to-date. It probably makes more financial sense to get a 2BR unit and split the rent with a friend, but no matter what, you won't go wrong living in OH.

Optima Horizons
Awesome unit with a fantastic landlord - very responsive, helpful, etc. Great building with full amenities, <10 min walk to campus.

Optima Horizons is perfect for Kellogg Students
Optima Horizons is a great place for students to live while attending Kellogg. We were fortunate to find a building and unit that permitted large dogs. It was a reasonable distance from Kellogg, had great amenities including a gym (though the gym has limited equipment), and is within walking distance to everything in Downtown Evanston. The building is pretty quiet and incredible comfortable. We have very much enjoyed our time here.

Optima Horizons
Best place to live for being 7 minute walk to campus at all times. The apartments are very nice and spacious and perfectly located on the edge of campus and downtown Evanston. Next door to EAC gym, and close to all bars. Also the most popular for Kellogg students so live with many classmates in the same building.

Overall, a great experience, but be aware of somewhat strict condo rules
It's been an overall great experience living at Optima Horizons. The building is relatively new and provides all basic amenities. Rooms are also well insulated and the building is right in the middle of the downtown area with easy access to grocery shops and pharmacies. For people going to Northwestern, this is a great place to be if you are ready to shell out a little bit of extra money, but the amenities (especially the heated pool) are worth it.
However, as it is a condo, you will need to abide by some very strict rules.

Nice condo building near campus
Optima Horizons is the closest full-service building to campus. The apartments are pretty different, so make sure you are able to see the specific unit you are renting (either in person or in pictures.) Almost all of the units have been renovated and are very nice. The building is a 7-10 minute walk to the Jake and 5-10 minute walk to most bars and restaurants in Evanston. It is a condo building so try to correspond with the unit's owner a little bit before committing, to get a sense of what kind of a landlord he or she will be. A pretty good bet is going through graduating Kellogg students to take over their apartment. Some landlords have been renting to Kellogg students for years, so it's worth talking to the current tenants about the unit and the landlord.

Great building, lots of Kellogg Students
The good: location, nice places, pretty much everything
The OK: Kitchens and living rooms are fairly small, but good price for the units
The bad: Move in and move out fees are high. You have to sign a 2 year lease minimum, and you can't sublet if you go abroad or intern somewhere else in the summer

Optima Horizons
Optima is a great location because it's the closest building to campus that is still within the 'downtown Evanston' area, making it equally as convenient for doing errands, dining out, and going out! There are a good amount of Kellogg people in the building so many times I don't even need to go outside to meet up with people which is fantastic!

Excellent building, but a little expensive
Great location and amenities and a lot of Kellogg students. On the negative side, rent is a bit expensive.

Downtown Evanston Reviews
Cons: Long walk from the Global hub. Closest grocery store is Whole Foods, a bit of a hike to TJ's and Jewel.
