Great 2 bd / 2 bath with off street parking close to campus and purple line.

Love the location. Love the backyard for our kids. Love the open layout and high ceilings. We pay gas, electricity, internet/cable. Half of the units are rented by Kellogg families.

Nice condo units in

Wonderful apartment. Nice gated backyard, quiet area, tall ceilings, new finishes, garage parking for most units. Very nice! Each of the 12 - 14 units are individually owned, I think about ~50% of them are rented out currently vs. having owners live in them.

Best family-friendly condo building in Evanston

Pros - very family friendly (a third of the units are occupied by Kellogg families), <2 min. from daycare next door, pet friendly (we have a 65 lb. large dog), comes with two parking spaces (1x garage spot that can be doubled as storage, 1x outdoor spot), convenient <15 min. walk to either Kellogg or downtown Evanston, apartments are more upscale and spacious in comparison to units in other apartment buildings, <2 min. walk to the Foster train stop for anyone that needs to commute into Chicago

Cons - expensive to rent, no gym or pool

Ideal for Families

Most, if not all, of the units in the building are about 1,400 square feet with an exceptionally large master bedroom and bathroom. The second bedroom is perfect amount of space for a crib and play space, but could also fit a toddler bed or even both.

Family Friendly Condominium

Pros - 12 minute walk to the HUB, 2x parking spots (one covered, one uncovered), <5 minute walk to the L (can't hear it passing by), tenants are half Kellogg families and half Evanston residents so the building is pretty quiet, small building (14 condominiums) that was recently constructed, accommodates pets for an additional fee

Cons - not good for singles, not close to Evanston restaurants / shopping, no amenities that bigger buildings have (pool, lounges, gym)

Do Not Recommend

Old and dirty carpet, ugly wall colour, exposed tubes, halogen lights, old kitchen furniture, very old & used furniture, twin bed, dark, poor ACs (let in cold air in winter); no trash bins, cooking equipment, cutlery, dishes even though apartment is supposed to be furnished; big chinese and Indian community;
People should stop living here to make Kellogg rebuild and refurnish it

Perfect

Could not have possibly asked for more. As a parent of two children, the space, amenities, and building community have been exceptional. The layout is amazing, the location is great, and we couldn't be happier. Perfect place for couples or families!

Northeast Evanston Reviews

Not the worst walk to class, quieter area, a little far from the grocery store. Park nearby, lots of grass for dogs, quiet neighborhood for walks/jogs.
If you're looking for a neighborhood feel, living in NE Evanston is perfect. You're just a 10-minute walk from downtown Evanston, but it's a bit quieter -- and housing prices are way more reasonable than being in a high-rise.
Good area, close to campus for walking/biking/skating (NU will not allow you to get a parking pass though b/c we're too close; parking is available after 4pm CST). Plenty of food options nearby.
Location couldn't be better. Best combination of accessibility to downtown while being a solid 10 minutes closer to the hub than most other places. An extra 20 minutes a day during those Chicago winters means a lot. You're 1 minute away from the Foster Street train stop but you'd have to make an effort to try to hear it when you're in your apartment. Our dog is scared of loud sounds and she hasn't been bothered at all.

They may bucket this as "Northeast" Evanston but if it is it's right on the line. The line is also moving North (as the hub pulls it that way). The surrounding area is nicer as well as it feels a bit more suburban than downtown does (and the houses in the surrounding streets are insanely nice), but again, you are 5-10 minutes from downtown. "Best of both worlds" sounds cliche but it's a perfect description of this place.
-Ridge road near The Reserve is a bit dark, but I have never had an issue coming home late at night.
-Close to Ingraham Park and the Golf Course where we take our dog.
-Close to undergrad houses on Foster street and further north on Ridge Ave.
-Overall good neighborhood experience.
Walkability to the Foster CTA, E2, and the Davis Street Metra is a definite plus. Subway across the street is good for being on the run, although wish there was a coffee shop a touch closer. Would definitely recommend a bike for trips to / from the new Kellogg building.
The Reserve is one of the Northern-most big apartment buildings. It’s close to campus and residential areas while still less than half a mile from the downtown area.
Just on the border of downtown Evanston and it's a great place to be. Lot's of great shops and restaurants that are all a short walk away!
