Good management

Older building but feels very homey and quiet yet still close to campus and dining. Best part is walking distance to a grocery store.

Fantastic Spot to Live!

Gables Central Park is great for pet owners! The property is right next to Central Park which offers a great space to walk your dog. Central Market is also right next door so grocery shopping is extremely easy. The bus route picks up right outside and it's about a 7 minute bus ride to campus.

LOVE IT!!

Gables Central Park is wonderful! Awesome pool and gym. Central Market is right in the backyard, less than a 5-minute walk. Quick access to multiple bus stops along W38th Street. Less than a 10-minute drive to UT Austin campus. Get anywhere in Austin in under 25 minutes.

Great place

It's a great place to live, dog friendly and super spacious. While rent is a little higher, I have a larger unit. There is 5+ bus lines right next to the complex that will take you directly to campus.

Solid Apartment Complex

The complex is quiet with multiple nearby bus stops to get to Rowling. Would recommend for someone looking for a quiet place with decent amenities (pool, gym, and covered parking).

I love GCP!

This has been my best renting experience so far (as it should be for the price I’m paying). The staff are friendly and they take care of problems right away. I have a dog and love being able to take him on walks around Central Park, which is accessible from the complex just downstairs from my apartment. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Great value and very pet friendly

-really responsive management, amazing maintenance folks

-mostly quiet neighbors (although this changed some recently)

-great access to campus, grocery store, park, etc.

-convenient little exercise room and green areas in the complex

-no fancy finishes in our unit, but that helped keep the price down and everything was clean and functional

Perfect for what I was looking for!

Appreciate the apartment style and size - more bang for your buck than you'd get downtown. The staff / management is very helpful and friendly. VERY dog friendly (I have a 70lb Anatolian Shepherd). Backs up to Central Park and Central Market which is lovely. Close enough to campus to bike (even walk occasionally). Huge windows which let in a lot of natural light.

Getting around Triangle State

Triangle State Reviews

35 reviews
I love the peaceful and community feel of the Triangle neighborhood. We frequently have student meet-ups for study sessions, happy hours and yoga classes in our neighborhood park. Everything I need is in walking distance and I can even walk the ~3 miles to class when I am feeling ambitious.
Not as hip as dowtown and may be lacking in nightlife, but I wasn't looking for that. Love the proximity to campus, but not innondated with undergrads.
relatively safe neighbourhood. not too many homeless people around. there is a grocery store nearby
I love being close to restaurants, the Triangle park, Hyde Park, and access to 290 .
The Triangle offers lots of chain restaurants for easy, quick options for food. You can easily walk to these places. However, the surrounding area is full of unique Austin treasures. There are plenty of coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants that you'll want to check out as well. Within a few miles, you also have Central Market and an HEB. I love the overall neighborhood vibe.
Location:
Good but not great. This neighborhood might technically classified as Hyde Park but it is just on the outskirts. The neighborhood is walkable and access to the metrorapid bus is great. It's still not downtown and you will have to spend more money on uber or time waiting for the bus to go to Sixth Street/Rainey Street/East Sixth to go out.

Transportation:
You can take either the metrorapid bus or the city bus to campus with about a 7-10 minute ride. The bus will also take you downtown fairly quickly. Occasionally I will commute to school with my bike and leave 15 minutes before class and get there on time. (disclaimer: not something you want to do in the hotter months)

Food:
Central Market is a ten minute walk through the park behind the apartment complex. There is also a Natural Grocers that is good for picking up small items like produce that is located at 38th and Guadalupe. Further down the road there is a Randall's grocery store. There are several smaller restaurants/bars within walking distance from the apartment. There is a Starbucks across the street as well as a coffee shop on Guadualupe called La Tazza Fresca that is a good place to study.
Great location with everything - grocery store, bank, fitness, restaurants. Two bus stops within 5 minutes walk
Its convenient and safe, but is not particularly exciting from a cultural or culinary standpoint.
