Highly recommend but may not be worth amount I pay
I have had a great experience, especially whenever I have any issues, I get an immediate response from management which is amazing (one less thing to stress about). The only thing is that I think you can get a better deal in Durham.

I have lived in a lot of these kinds of apartments over the years, and personally I find them all to be pretty similar. They're all generally nice and secure with occasional needs for maintenance repairs. I do think the management here is one of the better ones I've had. I don't use a ton of the amenities but they seem good. There are a lot of additional extras like free yoga classes and happy hour events which I think are very well done.

Nice place to live but pricey
I have had a great experience living at Van Alen. Maintenance comes quickly to my unit. Staff is very friendly. Place is kept clean. Pool and gym are great. Really no complaints except that it is expensive. When rent increases come each year you can negotiate them down.

Love living here
Van Alen is an amazing living community. You are certainly getting what you pay for. The pool area is beautiful and neighbors are always active and happy to share the communal spaces. The coffee machine in the lobby does the job. The gym has a lot you would need in addition to a sauna! Overall, love living here!
