Stayed in existing Chicago Apartment

I elected to stay living in the same apartment in Chicago that I had lived in for several years before coming to Booth. This spared me a move, but has meant I have a much longer and atypical commute to Hyde Park campus than most Boothies (I'm in the Wicker Park area, and take the CTA Blue Line into the Loop and transfer to the Metra line at Millennium Station). For me this is great as I am a comfortable Chicago native, but newcomers should think carefully about living far from the Loop. While it provides a great escape from the Booth "bubble" when you want it, and offers much better/more vibrant neighborhood life than the Loop does, it is notably harder to engage in the off-campus social life aspects with other Boothies who all live in the same 2-3 buildings in the Loop.
