You get what you paid for

Modern Living Rentals in general are slumlords. They avoid contact if you have a problem they have a responsibility to resolve (example: maintenance such as ceiling water damage/leak, bats, etc) and respond immediately when you owe something to them. Treena (property manager) is incredibly rude. When we arrived to our unit, it was incredibly filthy and we spent three days dedicated to cleaning. Apparently they also take 1/3 of your security deposit (~$900) because "tenants left apartment dirty" and they need to pay cleaning services, however it does not cost nearly this much for a thorough cleaning. The cleaning company did not even do a proper job anyways (I mentioned above we arrived to a filthy unit). Additionally, there is a bat/wasps problem but MLR has not done anything yet to resolve the problem despite other tenants reporting bats flying around their unit (HUGE health concern of RABIES). Only worthwhile if you literally cannot afford anything else. Only convenience is that you're next to the commons which has reliable bus stops.
