Clean and Quiet

I really enjoy living here. It's walking distance to Trader Joes, GW campus and the metro. It's really clean and the management is very quick and helpful. I wish the gym downstairs had some newer equipment though. It is a little pricey for a studio though.

925 Apartments

The location is hard to beat. Walking distance to Georgetown, GW, grocery stores, and the metro. Management is ok and tries to fix things promptly, but it's an old building and they always seem to be fixing something. Also, there's a lot of students that sometimes make noise, but management helps if you complain. Gym is old, tiny, and nothing to write home about.

Optimal Location and Good Value

I generally think I am getting a great value for what I pay in rent, especially considering how pricey the area is. The apartments are a good size with big windows. The layout of my place makes it seem larger than it is.
A lot of the 925 residents are students at GW and so the building can get noisy on the weekends. Whole Foods is just a short walk away, as is the metro. I use the fitness center regularly and although the equipment is not the best, it definitely does the trick. Management/staff are very friendly and I have no issues there. It would be nice to have newer kitchen and laundry appliances however.

Overall, the experience was OK

The negatives are: (1) there are a lot of weed smokers in the building, and sometimes the smell comes through the vents; (2) there are occasional plumbing issues; (3) the area is poorly lit at night; and, (4) management does not do a good job of communicating to the tenants (e.g. when they are turning off the water to do plumbing work). Also, the noise from the construction on the facade was HORRIBLE. However, the construction is almost complete, so it will not be a problem for future residents.

On the positive side: the building is clean, it is close to the university, it is close to the metro, it is close to grocery stores, and it is pretty quiet at night. Also, I feel safe here because there is someone at the reception desk 24 hours a day.

About Foggy Bottom

The naturally foggy surroundings of the area gives it its own unique name - Foggy Bottom. Unfortunately, its name does not highlight the excellent quality of music, dance and drama practiced in the neighborhood every single day. Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
Edge of Foggy Bottom bordering Georgetown - very safe and peaceful!
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
