Convenient and social, but pricey

This place is high on convenience and social environment, with good building security and decent amenities. It's expensive, but not compared to the rest of the city and considering most people share 2 bedrooms among at least 2 people if not 3 (most occupy a sunroom or den).

Average - but getting better

When i first moved in, i was very unsure how i would like this location. My friend and i liked the setup, with the sunroom there, it was nice in the summer. However, in the winter days, it gets quite cold. I do love the exercise room and the pool, though!! I would definitely recommend living here, especially if you have friends around. Once more friends moved to the area, my enjoyment increased.

Great!

Love this place. In the summer the pool on the roof is so nice. The gym is great, though busy sometimes. The main area is always nice and clean, and i love the entrance on the side - so convenient! all my friends live here, so its the best! the metro is very close, and there are several great bars/restaurants nearby, especially if you like Chinese food :)

Great apartment!

Really great location! The rent is rather high for the space but it's a fun young building with nice amenities - a pool and a gym. Definitely a great place to live as a young professional and hoping to meet new people! I recommend this apartment and location to everyone.

Centrally located with convenient metro access

The best thing about the Meridian is definitely the location. It's a short walk to the Judiciary Square, Union Station, and Gallery Place, and there are a lot of dining options nearby. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but the common amenities are great and staff and management have always been helpful. Overall, I'm definitely paying for convenience.

Nice apartment, great location.

The building is in a great location. It's 3 blocks from the Gallery Place metro (red, green, yellow line). The apartment is nice and many people convert the sunrooms into a second or third bedroom. The amenities are great, but rent is a bit high.

It's a law school dorm.

If you are 22-28 this building is perfect for you. If you are older than 28, you need to move b/c you are too old to live here. the building is a few blocks from Georgtown Law School, and at least 70% of the tenants are students there or at nearby graduate school. It's a great place to be young, but you will grow out of it.

Meridian at Gallery Place

Apartment is great for what I'm paying ($805 for my own sunroom). The apartment is primarily a younger crowd. A lot of Georgetown law students reside here. Fairly social, everyone is friendly. Nice pool. Decent gym. Great location. Very accessible to the metro, restaurants, social things, and the National Mall. Management isn't great- kind of rude sometimes and very slow with all processes. But overall, I've enjoyed living here for my first year in DC. Definitely fine for first couple years out of college but I'd like to move somewhere a little nicer in the coming years.

Great for the Younger Crowd

If you are part of the younger cohort and are social, then this apartment is a great value. It does not look as fancy as other brand new apartment buildings in the area, but it is also not quite as expensive. The pool, gym, club room, and other amenities are solid. Its location is almost unbeatable, being within a 15-minute walk from the blue/orange/silver lines and a 5-minute walk from the red/yellow/green lines; every metro line is accessible. It is also close to the bars and nice restaurants in Chinatown, and being close to the Verizon Center is great for any sports fan. Lastly, the maintenance has been great. I have never had an issue with my refrigerator, washing machine, washer/dryer, etc. When the HVAC needs to be serviced (once per year?), or anything else for that matter, such as a clog (my fault), the turnaround time is very quick.

Penn Quarter Reviews

There are always places to eat and things to do. Also the apartment is only about 1 mi from the Mall so it's great if you are a runner. In terms of getting to work it typically takes me 50min-1 hour on the metro one way and the metro stop is a couple of blocks from the building. I typically drive to work which (by commuting slightly before peak morning traffic and slightly after peak evening traffic) is around 35-40 min one way. The building is right off of 395, which means you don't have to do too much city driving ever.
Penn quarter is close to most places. Out of three roommates, two of us work in NoMa and one works near Farragut. All three of us walk when it is nice weather. The area doesn't have a lot of really cool, cultural bars but for every day places they are totally fine. There are lots of nearby groceries - safeway and walmart are walking distance from me. Its a safe area that can be a little pricey for rent.
I enjoy the fact that there are numerous places to eat and happy hour at in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that it doesnt necessarily have a "club" or "lounge spot".
Great neighbourhood if you like city life. Busy, loud, fairly safe area. Extremely accessible to the metro. Fairly central area. Near the Verizon center. Lots of restaurants and bars. Near the national mall. Can walk to work if I wanted to. Grocery stores close. No complaints for living in Chinatown!
The area is safe and easily accessible by bus and metro. You can access the Red, Blue/Orange and Yellow/Green within a few blocks of walking. The area is close to Chinatown but far enough away if you want a break from all the people and. There are great restaurants and bars that are great for both residents and those new to DC.
There are great restaurants, a weekly farmers market, plenty of events, walking distance to the mall, and many museums. It's within walking distance to a couple of grocery stores and it's easy to access the busses and metro.
Very safe and lots of restaurants and bars. It is great for dinner and happy hour. Very close to the mall and all the monuments. Great for running and outdoor activities. Life night and day.
Tons of awesome restaurants nearby! If you’re more of a bar hopper it’s perhaps not for you, but close metro means those spots are a 10 min ride away!
