Nice, clean building in a central location

I live in a one bedroom with a sunroom. My roommate and I split the rent fairly so she pays less for living in the sunroom. The Meridian is a very nice and clean building. It is in a great, central location. I wish more utilities were included in the rent price. Also, there should be longer hours for the gym, club room, and especially pool.

Happy with the Meridian at Gallery Place

I have been happy at the Meridian for the past two years. The building is perfect for people right out of college. The management (leasing office) is very hard to work with and often rude, however the guys working at the front desk could not be sweeter. If you can get through the leasing office to start your lease, you never really have to deal with them again, which is nice.

The gym, pool, and grill are definitely a plus!!

In the middle of everything!

Meridian at Gallery Place is a great place to live, in the middle of everything. Definitely overpriced, but as to be expected in the DC area. But it's conveniently located to bars, restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, metro, etc. It can be loud at night, but I live higher up in the building so not a problem.

Great 1 Bedroom

I have a one bedroom with sunroom to myself. The sunroom has beautiful views and brings a lot of light to the apartment, but gets very warm in the summer and very cold in the winter. Staff has fixed issues relatively quickly and the gym and pool are nice. I also like the free coffee in the mornings. I love this location and building. Most of the residents are young (22-30 age range) and have fun so you can throw parties on the weekend and not get noise complaints.

Well managed building with excellent management

This is a great place to live. Best value for the area, staff is wonderful and very responsive. Love the pool and outdoor space. Sometimes it can be loud, especially with the large number of young people who live in the building. Other than that, no complaints!

Great for young professionals

Great first apartment! The only issue is that the price is a bit high for the size of the apartment (600 sq feet). The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the rooftop is awesome!!

Poor value but great neighborhood

You get what you pay for, location-wise, and they know it - the place is tiny for how much you pay and the kitchen sorely needs an update, but the management is good, especially about fixing things quickly. The leasing office is known for being somewhat draconian but fortunately you rarely have dealings with them.

Living in the Meridian w/ Roommates

The apartments are very small if you are planning on having multiple roommates (1 person living in the den, 1 person in the bedroom, 1 person in the master bedroom); however, if you don't have roommates, I don't think this apartment is worth the price tag. Although the amenities are nice, the units are fairly basic. I certainly don't recommend living here with roommates.

Good DC location but far from the MCL offices

The Meridian at Gallery Place is really centrally located within DC proper. There is easy access to multiple Metro lines, and everything within the city is a short ride away. However, it is an approximate 35-45 minute commute from the MCL offices. The tradeoff is to be located centrally in the city vs. being close to work. There is mediocre food around the apartment, but the neighborhood doesn't have much character or culture. The apartment itself is really nice, but it's definitely attracts a younger crowd. The hallways sometimes get a little rowdy on the weekend.

Penn Quarter Reviews

There are always places to eat and things to do. Also the apartment is only about 1 mi from the Mall so it's great if you are a runner. In terms of getting to work it typically takes me 50min-1 hour on the metro one way and the metro stop is a couple of blocks from the building. I typically drive to work which (by commuting slightly before peak morning traffic and slightly after peak evening traffic) is around 35-40 min one way. The building is right off of 395, which means you don't have to do too much city driving ever.
Penn quarter is close to most places. Out of three roommates, two of us work in NoMa and one works near Farragut. All three of us walk when it is nice weather. The area doesn't have a lot of really cool, cultural bars but for every day places they are totally fine. There are lots of nearby groceries - safeway and walmart are walking distance from me. Its a safe area that can be a little pricey for rent.
I enjoy the fact that there are numerous places to eat and happy hour at in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that it doesnt necessarily have a "club" or "lounge spot".
Great neighbourhood if you like city life. Busy, loud, fairly safe area. Extremely accessible to the metro. Fairly central area. Near the Verizon center. Lots of restaurants and bars. Near the national mall. Can walk to work if I wanted to. Grocery stores close. No complaints for living in Chinatown!
The area is safe and easily accessible by bus and metro. You can access the Red, Blue/Orange and Yellow/Green within a few blocks of walking. The area is close to Chinatown but far enough away if you want a break from all the people and. There are great restaurants and bars that are great for both residents and those new to DC.
There are great restaurants, a weekly farmers market, plenty of events, walking distance to the mall, and many museums. It's within walking distance to a couple of grocery stores and it's easy to access the busses and metro.
Very safe and lots of restaurants and bars. It is great for dinner and happy hour. Very close to the mall and all the monuments. Great for running and outdoor activities. Life night and day.
Tons of awesome restaurants nearby! If you’re more of a bar hopper it’s perhaps not for you, but close metro means those spots are a 10 min ride away!
