higher rent price, yet it’s quiet, well-accommodated & well-located

Pros
- 📞 Leasing office was communicative and efficient. Move-in was smooth (loading dock and elevator available)
- ☕️ Well-accommodated lobby: snacks, coffee machine and magazines
- 🌳🎾 Lots of trees and flowers nearby. Georgetown’s Rose Park & N Street Tennis Courts are walking distance
- 🚶‍♂️Walking distance to GW Law (15 minutes), Trader Joe’s (5 minutes), the West End Neighborhood Library (5 minutes) & restaurants
- Ⓜ️ Metro accessibility: walking distance to blue/orange/silver (Foggy Bottom) & red lines (Dupont Circle) + buses nearby
- So quiet you can hear crickets at night
- 🖨️ Amenity Wi-Fi in business center (PrintWithMe printer = free printing! No paper needed)
- 🏋️‍♀️ Fitness center that has the essential cardio and weight equipment. Smaller sized gym, yet has natural light

Cons
- 💨📢 Loud air conditioner and washer
- 🛜 Resident is responsible for Wi-Fi and utilities
- 📦 Occasionally disorganized package room
- ♻️ No recycling trash chute (there’s a bin instead). You have to take big recycling bags and broken down boxes to the trash room yourself

Good to know
- 🔑🔑 You receive two sets of traditional keys + key fob for front entrance
- 🆘 No 24-hour receptionist (yet there is an emergency number you can call)
- 🐶 🏊‍♀️ 🏫 Near Francis Dog Park, Community Pool & Francis-Stevens school. Pool is free to use if you have proof of DC residency
- 🚒 Near a fire station, yet 24th St NW is quieter than M Street NW
- 🏨🏢 The immediate area has lots of hotels and office buildings nearby. If you face 24th St NW, the light from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) building may seep in at night. You need to walk a couple of blocks east on N St NW for it to feel residential.

The West End Condominiums

Overall, I would recommend this condominium complex to my fellow business students because of the location and the flexibility of the landlord which we worked with. The unit is able to be converted into a two-bedroom unit because it is so large, much to large for just one person.

Resident

Good apt overall. Pricey because of location, but very close to foggy bottom metro stop. Gym is pretty small. Not a lot of sunlight.

Unparalleled Convenience

I have absolutely loved living in the West End neighborhood. It's a short walk into Georgetown and in the heart of Foggy Bottom--arguably the best location in the DC area! I cannot state how perfect this location is. The extra perks like a state-of-the-art onsite fitness center, a beautiful courtyard for gathering and grilling with friends also adds to the complex's charm and value. It is 100% percent pet friendly and my cats have never had a problem in this apartment complex. Would definitely recommend this complex to those who are looking to experience all that DC has to offer!

Love my apartment

I have lived at this residence for far too long and frankly my husband and I have no intention of leaving. This is by far one of the classiest buildings in DC. Everytime guests come to visit, they are amazed by this gem. I love that the location is a little hidden and so offers more quiet than most DC buildings do right in the middle of the city, Amenities are top notch. Management is great and I can't say more amazing things about this place

Excellent management and amazing location

The location is really convenient. Getting to campus is really easy and I'm close to most of my friends that live in DC. The Dupont and Foggy Bottom metro stops are pretty close by as well. The location feels really safe and there are a lot of great restaurants close by. Rasika is probably some of the best Indian food in DC. The Trader Joe's, which is about 5 minutes away, is a life saver.

The move-in process was really easy and management has been outstanding. I've only had a couple of minor maintenance requests and they've been taken care of immediately. While the prices are pretty high, they are competitive with some of the other comparable 2 bedrooms I looked at. I would definitely recommend West End Residences to friends!

West End Reviews

West End is fine. It's safe, there's easy access to transportation and plenty of supermarkets. But it's boring as anything - a neighborhood of hotels and office buildings. It's also overly pricey without really giving you much in return. As someone who had to move to DC on short notice - I picked West End based on location and little else - and I mostly came out of my time living here wishing I had done more research before signing my lease.
Safe neighborhood, great transportation hub with multiple bus stops less than a minute's walk from the apartment and a 5 minute walk to the metro. Some restaurants and bars nearby as well. Ten minute (at most!) walk to GW campus! My only gripe is that it's an expensive neighborhood but the apartment is competitively priced for the area.
The neighborhood is perfect. Ten minute walk to school, five minute walk to the metro. CVS and Walgreens just ten minutes away, trader joes just 3 minutes away, Whole Foods ten minutes away. There is a bus stop with a bunch of bus routes directly in front of the building. This neighborhood is also close to a bunch of other great neighborhoods, just a 20 minute walk to DuPont Circle and Georgetown where there are restaurants, bars, and stores. The monuments (the Lincoln) are only a 25 minute walk down 23rd street. There are numerous gyms nearby and the school gym is only a ten minute walk from the apartment. The area is probably the safest in the city and there is not a lot of noise over the normal city noise. It is next to the GW Hospital so ambulances going by can be annoying but not overly so. This neighborhood is great and close to every amenity.
I like the west end library and the l Trader Joe’s but other than that it is a little quiet and mostly filled with hotels. There aren’t very many food options either. It’s a close walk to Georgetown which is nice.
This neighborhood has everything a millennial needs - a CVS, Soulcycle, Sweetgreen, and great bars/restaurants. Highly recommend because it's quiet and really close to DuPont Circle and the GW Metro.
ONE BLOCK FROM TRADER JOES!! 5 min to Georgetown, 10 min to Dupont, 8 minute bike ride to campus. Bars & restaurants. Across the street from the dog park.
Hard to beat the Foggy Bottom area. Safe and close to everything you would need to be productive and have a great med school experience.
Some of the neighbors are great. It gets pretty dead very early here. There have been a few instances of intruders in the building.
