Amazing
I got very fortunate to have gotten grad housing at the new Verano Place. It’s a brisk walk to Paul Merage and I like that it’s also very close to the ARC. I also like that there’s free parking for residents and 432 hours of guest parking each quarter for your guests if you register their car. There are also study rooms and booths in the apartment so you can study there with friends. Additionally, the community center is quite nice. There are additional study centers and you can rent board games, basketballs, and games like pool, foosball, and more. My apartment mate is very nice and she has a cat. I have my own room, however, my only complaint is that it’s very small. Overall, I’m very lucky to have gotten Verano!

Verano Towers UCI
Small rooms, but very clean and new, with unbeatable price. I like the proximity to campus, grocery stores, and William mason regional park.

Affordable and tight-knit
Living on-campus in Verano Towers has been great. Your classmates are also likely to be in the area. We often use the study rooms and the community center. There are also occasional events held. Convenient and fairly priced, though rooms are relatively small. No AC. All utilities are included and there is sufficient parking. The only mess is dealing with UCI Housing and their slow and terrible responses about initial leases/switching apartments/finding roommates.

Safe, clean, secure
Being one of the more recently built apartments in grad housing, the apartment is clean and still feels new. The area is generally quiet and the ceiling fans help make sure it doesn't get unbearably hot, even during the summer months. Access to laundry machines is easy and free. We are also within easy walking distance of the ARC, which is awesome for gym goers. No complaints so far!

Student housing
Verano 8 is great. It doesn’t have AC but it does have a ceiling fan in every room. It gets pretty hot during the summer months but there are various cooling stations throughout the neighborhood.

Verano 8 Review
While the apartment looks new and nice, the bedrooms are small and the closet is poorly designed, without a door or even space for a curtain to separate the clothes and shoes from the rest of the room. We have been dealing with ants for months and just found a roach in our apartment yesterday. So far, housing has been unhelpful with completing work orders. While the rent is cheap, I would pay more if it meant I wouldn’t have to worry about pests, and if I knew my landlord would fix issues appropriately.

Not Horrible, but not ideal
The VP apartments look nice from the exterior, but you can tell it is old based on the interior structure as the walls have many, deep cracks. The appliances are also a decade old - stove and fridge, with the fridge not sealing correctly thus fruit flies are able to enter even if the fridge is closed. There is no elevators to move furniture up and down your unit, which makes moving harder and also affects how many groceries you decide to purchase to avoid multiple up/down trips to the car.
During the summer time, the whole unit will be extremely hot to the point where you cannot sleep until 12am/1am even with the windows open and ceiling fans on. There should be an A/C unit as some people struggle with the heat. There are also issues with spiders and other insects coming through the ceiling outlets.

Verano Apt Review
Verano Apts is a good place to live. Close to campus and to grocery stores like Trader Joes, and Albertsons.
