Pros and Cons of Collegetown Center

I liked the location of the apartment. It is located close to the South side of the campus (e.g. Engineering Quad, Arts Quad, McGraw tower). It is also very convenient to live here because there are nearby grocery stores (e.g. 7-11), and nearby restaurants (e.g. Collegetown Bagels). The rental company is located down the street, a few minutes walk from the apartment.

There is concierge available at the front desk of the lobby, throughout most parts of the day. You can pick up package at the front desk. They can also borrow you a cart where you can use, for example, when moving in or for groceries.

However, the main downside of this apartment to me is the not so new furnitures within the room. You can tell from the styles and the stains on the furnitures that they are of some age.

For those who are sensitive to sound, this might not be the best place to live in. The walls don’t seem to be sound proof. You can hear the noises of your neighbors (e.g. playing music with speakers) and noises from the road outside (e.g. cars driving by).

The internet fee is not included in the rent. You will need to pay a one-time fee at the start of your rental period, after a free trial period, and will need to bring your own router for Wi-Fi.

Overly priced!

Management is rude, the Internet is not great, the carpets are not cleaned as often as they should be cleaned and the gym is always packed. On the positive side, it's well located and you have a shuttle that drops you off near Johnson.

Quiet

I like it but I also hate it.The bus is convenient as is the gym and study rooms. Caveat with the study rooms is that it is very rare that the area is quiet

Good place but old building with costly rent

The location is the best but the building is old with thin walls. If your neighbor is noisy, then you would need ear plugs to sleep. The fitness room is very small, so people rarely use it.

Good location, but expensive

CTC is very close to law school, so it would say that its location is perfect. However, it is an old building with thin wall. If your neighbor is a noisy person, you might be stressed out a lot.

Location is great. Everything else is Ok!

The location can't be beat. The front desk is awesome and great at collecting packages and helping you with whatever you need. The rooms are ok, and the rental company is just OK too.

Great studio apt

Fantastic studio apartment in a great location. Modern apartment in a nice building with a doorkeeper. Landlord is extremely responsive.

Collegetown can be loud on Saturday nights when it is still warm outside but building itself is very quiet with thick walls. Rent is expensive but worth it.

Collegetown Center review

Excellent location relative to campus. Loud outside on the street but easy to shut it out. Proximity to Starbucks a lifesaver. Concierge ladies are gracious and extremely helpful.

Good property to rent

The apartment building is located in Collegetown, making it one of the closest residential properties to some of the buildings on campus, such as the Law School, Gannett Medical
Center, Cornell store etc.

Security is great, and the concierges are very friendly and helpful.
