Lofts at Lakeview

Good price for the size of the apartment ($2130/month; 1,528 ft, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms). Huge windows with plenty of natural light. Apartment complex is generally quiet, and maintenance team has been very responsive. Amenities are pretty good - gym is on the smaller side but well-equipped, and the complex has two pools. Kitchen appliances are fairly new and work well. Closets are enormous.

Safety is a slight concern - there has been one car stolen from within the garage in the last four months, and there are no locks on the doors that lead from the garage to the interior hallway. Lobby is open to the public during business hours and interior hallway is accessible from the lobby. We did see a few cockroaches in the late summer, but exterminator responded quickly to our maintenance request and have not had issues since.

Review on Loft at Lakeview

Apartment is close to Fuqua School of Business and rent varies from $1000 to $1400. Building is new and amenities are also fairly new. Only thing about this building is that the walls are porous so you can hear others footsteps easily, but not in a way that disturbs. So best to stay at the top most floor

The apartments at Lofts are nice- but I'm not sure they are worth the cost. The management is not very responsive and if you have an issue with your apartment it can take forever to get it fixed. That being said the facilities are nice and I enjoy living here- just not sure it's worth the high cost when there are plenty of places that are cheaper and have better management.

I chose to live at Lofts because of its convenient location. Although management is not the most responsive, I have loved living nearby classmates and TSCHE.

Pretty good

Have been here going on two years. Rent has been very reasonable thus far, good value for the amenities and age of the property relative to newer, more expensive locations on Erwin Road. There can be bug issues on the lower floors.

Nice apartment with hardwood floors, good amenities, parking is easy and very easy to have guests. Very convenient location to the Erwin Rd. shopping center and restaurants and an easy 15-20 min walk to the Law School.

Many other graduate students live nearby. It is an easy and convenient short drive up to CVS, Food Lion, and gas stations. Also walkable to the most western side of Duke campus and certain restaurants, yoga studios, and a bar or two. Easy access to the highway and just a short drive to 9th street. There are other nicer more expensive apartments that have faced break-ins however, I have not heard of any at Poplar West.
I enjoy walking to class with many other students in the area however theres not much to walk to. Maybe the Nosh shopping center but most other things (bars/food/grocery) I need to drive.
Nearby bus stops for shuttles that stop near the medical school; everything (groceries, restaurants, school) is still most accessible via car
Lots of other students live in the area. It's not as fun as downtown Durham, but convenience to school can't be beat.
This is a great place for students since majority of the people staying here are students. But this can sometimes be a problem for families in my opinion.
There are no shops in the immediate vicinity but there are a couple of convenient stores within walking distance.
Don't really know anything about the neighbouring residences since I've never been there.
the apartment is located close to campus and very convenient for a quick bite to eat as well
Neighborhood beyond the apartment is fine. There's some good restaurants well within walking distance. However, there's not really many small shops or stores within walking distance in case you need to buy some last minute toiletries or food. Lots of bus lines next to my apartment.
I like the neighborhood because it is close to Duke and not too far from downtown.
