Close to campus but no station 9

Great for living but you wont make many connections

Pros: Large(r) apartments, cheaper price tag, close to an eating complex and within walking distance of campus. Management has (so far) been responsive to complaints/requests for maintenance.

Cons: Feels too far from the Fuqua community - you can go on impromptu walks or drinks with classmates, but have to plan a little in advance. You will find yourself travelling a lot to 9th Street anyway, and the cab fees can become substantial. No grocery stores in nearby areas, we order online or pick them up when we're on 9th Street.

Positives: 1. The place is walking distance to the Fuqua campus and a minute away from multiple eating joints (not as many as at Ninth street). 2. The management is responsive. 3. Lots of sunlight and can see Belmont lake from a few apartments.

Negatives: 1. This is no ninth street, so as many Fuqua students live here and there are not many social activities in the apartment complex, for those, you have to go to the ninth street. (Most occupants here are from Duke University Hospital and medical practices). 2. No grocery stores nearby, but since I order mostly from Instacart, doesn't matter to me as much.

The apartment itself is gorgeous. Unfortunately, management is not the best. They are slow to respond, and often not very helpful. The units are often not refurbished either so you may have to ask to have dingy appliances replaced.

Overall, the apartment is very nice. Good kitchen with new appliances. Can't beat location - 10 min walk to campus/hospital. Nice common space with printer, work out room, office space, free coffee. Floor plan is nice (but not great for roommates since there is not a full wall separating rooms). There is a maintenance portal which is very responsive. Only downside is that it is expensive for Durham.

Excellent apartment with great amenities. Maintenance is always very prompt and professional. They have also worked very hard to make amenities safe during COVID. It is a bit pricey, but cheaper than the other apartment complexes in the area (as in right off of Erwin within walking distance of the SoM)

really large apts but really old and comes with its own problems

however I wouldn't get this amount of space for the price I pay anywhere else at the newer places

Good property and location, somewhat expensive especially with limited amenity use (due to COVID)
