Great Family/Grad Student Housing next to UNC's campus

My family and I really enjoyed living a baby Hill. The Building Maintenance is frequently upkept and I appreciate that utilities are included in our rent expense. The management team tries to create Interactive events and experiences for the tenants.

Convenient Place w/ most of the international students

The experience has been great. It's convenient with reasonable price. I don't have to worry about fixing stuff as it is managed by UNC. Highly recommend for international students.

A great option if you want to live near school

Rent is relatively low; residents are all UNC students so people are nice; not very convenient for laundry and trash removal.

Simply but clean and nice

I love my apartment. It has big windows, and it is not dirty or too old. It is very spacious, and all the utilities are included (which makes bill paying very straight forward). It is conveniently located next to the Kenan-Flagler Business School (4min bike ride or a 10 min walk).

Convenient and reasonably priced

Baity Hill is located right next to Kenan-Flagler, making it really easy to walk to and from class. The apartments are roomy with great facilities, all at a very competitive rent.

Franklin Street is about 20 minutes away by bike and there's a daily shuttle service (except on Sundays) that runs every evening, so you can get around even without a car. And there are lots of KF students around to socialize with!

Great location & price, but you need some luck!

5-star for location and price. However, you need some luck for the room selection and should expect a below-average service from the management. I moved to a third-level room and it has been fantastic so far.

Convenient, Inexpensive

Apartments are basic but well kept. The walls are very thin though, so noise travels easily. From a student point of view, best access to the Business school and a hassle free experience since all utilities are taken care of.

Best option for Business School

Pros: Baity Hill's location makes the apartments best place to stay for the ones engaged in the business school; only 2 to 10 minutes of walking depending of the block. The flats are very spacious and have a lot of storage spaces. The management of the Baity Hill community is very responsive and helpful. There is no paperwork/credibility/deposit issues for the students since it is managed by the university. A lot of MBA students stay in the complex; a factor increases social engagement.

Cons: Located on the southern borders of the university, it's quite far away from the attractions in the city center. However, several Chapel Hill and university public transport service options are available for free and adequate during weekdays. Residents also need to pay for parking space separately. No pool or gym exists within the complex.

Getting around Baity Hill

Baity Hill Reviews

55 reviews
Baity Hill is tucked away on aside Street that comes up next to campus. The only neighborhood is the actual apartment complex which is full of International students or students with families. The normal homes nearby seem calm and safe to walk by. It's a great area being so close to campus.
They are friendly, kind so I feel safe in my apartment.
Some of them are noisy sometimes, but basically, I am not bothered so much.
Love the complex and surrounding area. Very “neighborhoody.” However, very dark at night, not many lights.
Its campus so you get all the benefits but still removed from the undergrads which is really nice.
Quiet, peaceful, easy access to campus, highway and Franklin St
It’s a cute neighborhood to walk around. Feels very safe.
Baity Hill accommodates singles, couples, and families, and the neighborhood is very diverse. There are common areas to meet within the community, and you have great access to different areas of campus. The area is very safe at all hours, with minimal noise. Grocery stores are just a couple of miles away - you can get there by driving, convenient public transit, or the UNC shuttle service.
It's very quiet: mostly graduate students and some families. Very convenient for getting to McColl. It is tucked away in the corner of campus so if you want to walk anywhere, it takes about a mile to get into campus. I would recommend having a car for this neighborhood since there are no grocery stores within walking distance.
