Partners Place is underrated

This place provides the best value for money among other popular options

Living with 2 roommates at C-13, Partner's place

The room is spacious. If you want a lot of furniture in your room, this is the place you are looking for. There is no front gate, gym or office in the apartment complex. This place is actually pretty safe compared to Belmont and Loft (there is some robbery in these two apartments). Going to fuqua is a bit hard (30 min by bus, 20 min by foot). However, going back home is pretty easy (5 min by bus, 20 min by foot).

Lots of noise

It has the terrible sound isolation. NEARLY NONE. If you are those who need a quite place for rest, do not choose this place.

Good Residence Near West Campus

5 minutes' bus or 20 minutes' walk to school. Lots of international student. Amenities are fine. Enough space and reasonable price.

A good apartment with enjoyable sunlight

We rent the apartment at the 3rd floor with skylight which makes our house warm and bright at day time. Also we have a large drawing room, allowing us to invite over 10 friends to have dinner together. The transportation is convenient and you can take school bus LL just in front of the gate. The only things I could say bad are distant leasing office and the lack of apartment gym.

It Works

Nothing spectacular here. It's a relatively inexpensive option compared to some of the apartments closer to campus. No frills, but nothing that is particularly bad. Bus to campus can be frustrating.

Good for the price

The place is pretty good for what the price is. It's not fancy, but it has everything and isn't too old. As for roommates, I made the mistake of going in on the place through a craigslist ad and have had some interesting (not great) roommates as a result.

Great Value!

Nice apartment, Great price, Decent location.

The experience of staying at Partner's Place was nice and smooth.
The only to issues are the following:

* Transportation. Partner's Place is on the Lasalle LOOP bus route. It takes more time to get from school to home rather than from home to school.

* Noise of A/C in the winter. This depends on the room.

Great value for money

The apartment is very spacious. It's relatively cheaper than the Heights and Belmont. I would definitely recommend living here for people who want the most value for money.
You would have to contact individual owners to rent a unit out though.

Getting around Erwin - LaSalle

Erwin - LaSalle Reviews

It's been perfectly fine. People are nice but it's not much of a community, just a place where people live. Behind the Belmont which had a spate of robberies a few months back, but the Flats is further away from the main road and is better lit. So far no security incidents or concerns at the Flats. Affordability depends on which apartment complex you choose in the Erwin-LaSalle area. Wide range in rents, ranging from very expensive to very affordable depending on which one you pick.
The broader neighborhood's chief attribute is convenience to Duke. A lot of students live in the apartment complexes around here. It can be inconvenient sometimes getting to a supermarket from the neighborhood, though (eventually they're going to re-open a Harris Teeter on Hillsborough, which should mitigate this issue somewhat).
The neighborhood was perfectly fine when I started living there, but recently there have been some armed robberies in apartment buildings that are about a 10 minute walk away. However, I would like to say that I have not felt unsafe walking home at night and the security at Trinity is quite high. For example, you have to use a special key to get into the lobby (where a security guard sits after dark) and then you have to use the key to get in from the lobby to where the rooms are, and then again to get into your room. There are about 10 good restaurants within walking distance ranging from greek food to Mexican food to sushi so it's great for a quick dinner when you don't want to cook. There is also a hair salon and a manicure place, as well as a Walgreens pharmacy. We are very close to Duke Hospital and the bus systems are very accessible.
The apartments are close to campus and easily accessible through bus, bike, or walking if desired. There is a nearby Kroger that is a less than 5 min drive away just up LaSalle St. Overall, there are some older apartments further up the road that have had issues with crime in the past, but The Heights and other apartments around the area seemed to be insulated from those issues.
The food in the area is really accessible and I feel quite safe in the surrounding area, excluding the gas stations and bus stop. I've heard some odd things at night but never seen anything fishy and feel safe coming home at night. +Tons of dogs!
Lofts is right next to a few restaurants - TGIFridays, Chipotle, Enzo's, Noodles, Smash Burger, Sushi Love, etc. The Kroger grocery store is just a few minutes away, off of Lasalle. This is a quiet neighborhood.
Quiet neighbourhood. Conveniently located to West Campus and walking distance to Fuqua. Easy and healthy fast food options nearby. Close to food stores e.g. Kroger & Harris Teeter. Close to WaDuke trail.
Not the safest neighborhood and has little transit. There have been issues at other apartment complexes with safety, but Heights has been very safe. It is absolutely fine to walk around in the day here, but not at night. There are not very many restaurants or bars nearby, although downtown Durham is 10 minutes away.
