OP City Apartments Review

The management is very responsive and it is a great and reasonable place to stay for a medical student with limited spending capacity.

Very happy I lived here but not staying long term.

I love the location and the common areas are very spacious. Great kitchen with tons of storage. The location could not be better for the suburbs. Right on Lake in Oak Park and next to a Green Line stop. The biggest downside is that many of the two bedrooms are loft-style so the upstairs bedroom does not have a door - though it is very private.

Spacious apartment in really nice area

2 bed/2 bath apartment shared with fellow Stritch student. Apartment is in a safe, family-friendly area. Building is older, with mostly updated common areas and apartments. Front door has Butterfly MX security system with proximity scanner for entry to building; individual apartments have traditional keys and dead bolts. Amenities include gym, lounge area, coin-operated (swipe credit card) laundry, and heated garage ($135/mo). Building is located near a covered city garage (~$95/mo). Apartment units are clean and updated, with updated appliances and new carpet (in our case). Windows allow for plenty of sunlight, but structure of building means no direct light (we have lots of plants, but they are not all doing great). Pets are allowed with additional fee. Management is very responsive to service and other requests. Located next to a fire station (often noisy, but we had a quick response to our apartment fire!). Located close to CTA green line. Apartment has come control over temperature, but tends to be either cold (central AC during summer) or hot (central heating during winter), so opening windows usually evens out the temperature. Other students live in this building and we were lucky to get an apartment unit that was right next to two other students in our class (now some of my best friends at school).

Good place

A little old and no in-unit washer and dryer. Very well maintained and I get a lot of sunlight when it’s around. No central air or central heat. Has radiators that keep the place toasty in winter. Also, have a small space heater in my room for when I want some extra warmth before bed. Good neighborhood. Feels safe. Big for a 1 bedroom. Good price.

Pricey but worth it

Rather expensive, but we needed a way to house a family of four during medical school. Overall, excellent, great space, very secure, responsive management and very close to the Green Line CTA.

Pricey but worth it

Love the building, love the property management team, great location near transit. All of that comes at a premium.
