Great Location!

There aren't any amenities, other than the most important one: location! The building is close to everything, and has dedicated parking (not covered). It is great for Kellogg since it's almost entirely made up of Kellogg students.

The units themselves are well designed for space and comfort. The large windows allow an abundance of ambient light, and the open design is very convenient.

Great location, few amenities

The building is a 10/10 for location. It has high (12-14') ceilings and is quiet in the units. There is no doorman, storage area, or fitness room, but that also means you aren't paying for those things. There is secure, uncovered parking (my unit comes with 1 designated spot). The building is old so the elevators and plumbing seem to need a lot of maintenance, but it's only been truly inconvenient on a handful of occasions.

A beautiful renovated building!

I love the Galleria. It is central to everything you would ever need being that it is in downtown Evanston. It is steps from the CTA, and the area is extremely walkable and bikeable. The apartment comes with a great parking space, where your car is very safe. The apartments themselves are beautiful - hard wood and updated appliances.

My only qualm is that sometimes the elevators get stuck. Yesterday my boyfriend got stuck in one of them and had to call for help. Other than that, the property is fabulous.

Beautiful unit, best location

Amazing location, great deals to be had since they are condos rented out by individuals. A couple issues with leaks from the roof that building maintenance fixed and repainted, so not too bad. HUGE windows with lots of light (although this is also coming from a corner unit). There is secure outdoor parking (2nd floor roof) which is great, but otherwise no extra storage or other amenities.

Super loud radiator clanging, but otherwise decent

The Galleria has a few apartments with very loud radiators, including #513. The place is otherwise fine, but the loud radiators make it very difficult to get a good night's rest in the wintertime. I would recommend connecting with the previous tenants before signing a lease at the Galleria.

Great Location, High Ceilings

The Galleria location was the deciding factor for me (plus the fact that it's pet friendly - and there are a lot of Kellogg dogs here). I can easily grab food or drinks from anywhere in downtown Evanston, and we're just a block from the train for my husband to get to work. I love the high ceilings and huge windows.
A couple things to note:
1) At least in the one bedrooms, the walls don't go to the ceiling and there is no bedroom door. It works fine but was a surprise since I didn't see inside a unit before renting.
2) Another surprise was that the parking garage isn't covered, so during winter you'll have to clear snow off your car.
3) Because it's a condo building, I've found the maintenance request process to be a little cumbersome (I have to be home to let the repairman in, versus other places I've lived where they can let themselves in).
4) The condos are from the early 2000s, so they vary in how well they've been maintained and how new the appliances are.

Evanston Galleria, the dark horse

Evanston Galleria is smack dab in the middle of Downtowm Evanston so everything is very close by. Bars (Bat 17, Prairie Moon, Nevin's) and gyms (LA Fitness, EAC, Pure Barre, Cycle Bar) and restaurants galore. It's a 15 min slow walk, 12 min fast walk away from the Jake, but will most likely be a 20+ min walk to the Global Hub. Around the corner is the Davis purple line stop so you can get downtown with ease.

The residence is made up of primarily Kellogg students but because there aren't any common areas it doesn't feel as dorm-y as Optima Horizons or E2. I like that because when I come home I can actually have a place to be on my own, but still have Kellogg folks nearby for camaraderie. You get one uncovered parking space included with each unit. Most folks live here on 2-yr leases. There are no extra amenities in this building (no gyms, no pools, no doormen). You pay for gas, cable, electricity in addition to rent. Water and trash is included in the rent.

The rooms are spacious and I get nothing but compliments on our high ceilings and modern track lighting. Some units have updated appliances (stainless steel) and some do not so be aware. During the few warm months we have, we have A/C to cool us down and during the cold winter months we have a radiator system that warms the entire building.

Great apartment, older building

The apartments and floor plans are great. I love my 1-bedroom because the kitchen is large and I have high ceilings and lots of natural light coming into the room. The living space is also larger than what I've seen at other 1-bedrooms in town. On the flip side, the building is older and doesn't have the amenities that others do. The elevators stop working every few weeks (usually one of the two will work though) and the heat can be a little temperamental. Even though we don't have a gym or covered parking I still love my apartment.

Evanston Galleria - Corner Unit

My wife and I have a corner unit that is really a fantastic apartment. The location of Evanston Galleria absolutely cannot be beat, and the apartment is large for a one-bedroom. On the corner, we have more windows than most units and get tons of natural light. Our landlord is also excellent. All that said, the apartment is definitely not cheap. Moreover, while we think very highly of our landlord, the management company of the building itself is bureaucratic and seems to be largely uninterested in the concerns of tenants. There have been some issues related to storage space in the building, doormats, elevators, etc., and in my opinion the management company hasn't presented itself well. Every apartment/building has problems though - just trying to evenly present the good and the bad.

Overall, our experience in Evanston Galleria has been quite good and we would definitely choose it again over any of the other Kellogg housing options.

Downtown Evanston has everything you need. E2 is walkable to campus, a Target, and plenty of restaurants, as well as Metra and L stations to get to Chicago. Right across the street is a Subway, a Thai restaurant, and a pizza place, plus there’s a 7-Eleven about a block away, so you’re very close to options if you need food in a pinch.
Close to downtown Evanston but a bit far from E2/the reserve. One of closest apartments to Trader Joes/Whole Foods/Jewel Osco while also being close to campus. Very close to the lake!
Downtown Evanston has everything you need from a downtown including grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores.
Downtown Evanston is great - plenty of great food within walking distance, Metra and El trains right nearby, a really nice place to be. Only downside is it's far from school and the only truly walkable grocery store is a Whole Foods, which can get expensive. Overall, wouldn't want to live elsewhere though.
Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Very easy access to Lake Michigan as well!
There isn't much to do here, but that's true pretty much everywhere in Evanston. We're in walking distance to all of "downtown" Evanston, so restaurants / fast food / subway, etc. It's a slightly longer walk than desired to Kellogg, but that's fine.
The apartment is central to downtown and is walking distance to most bars, restaurants, shops, beach, etc. Evanston is a bit of a sleepy town (especially during the pandemic...I've been told it was much more vibrant pre-pandemic).
I live just south of the main downtown area, and it's the perfect intersection of being close to the action but also a bit removed when you want some quiet. I like being a in a more residential pocket, so there is slightly less foot traffic and really nice areas to walk around with a dog, etc.
