247 E Chestnut

247 is one of the older buildings in the area, and it shows. Pipes were creaky and loud (we could hear whenever someone next door turned on the faucet or shower), walls were thin, and we had roaches a couple times. Besides that, the amenities and staff were friendly and great. Laundry room was clean and always functional and the repairmen were always around if you needed something fixed. Doormen were the nicest people ever. They do have a move-in policy that charges you $150 per elevator use and only allow moves on weekdays, which was fairly inconvenient.

Streeterville Reviews

Streeterville is amazing. I haven’t felt unsafe walking around and it’s a lot of Northwestern med school students so it’s a lot of young people!
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
Neighborhood is quite touristy especially with the underpass to the lake right by. Lots of tourists in the summer but that means you're also minutes walk away from the lake, navy pier and michigan ave. Decent amount of food in streeterville and very close to entertainment and food in river north. Walking distance to the loop and millenium park.
A bit of a hike to the train near MPP each morning

Don't think that Streeterville is multi-level -- makes it hard to call Ubers and to walk place -- also far from the subway lines Limited bars and restaurants although there is a Whole Foods, Target, Corepower Yoga, etc. nearby
It's tough in the summer with all of the tourists running in and out of Navy Pier. Lakeshore also floods right outside of the building, but it's always bustling and it feels safe. It's great to have the Target right down the street and several grocery stores in the neighborhood.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
