The Basics
The apartment itself is a great size for the price, it's a one bedroom but my roommate lives in the "living room" space. Fixtures are old, much painted over, and slowly falling apart. Have to use power strips so that we don't keep flipping the breakers. Floor would be lovely if they refinished it- very scratched hardwood. The landlords themselves are a bit sketchy, a bit negligent, but far from the worst I've had in Chicago. Charged me double the stated price for a new set of keys, but did fix both our lights as soon as we reported them out, so there's that. Heating gas in included in rent, cooking gas is not. We pay our own electric and internet. Note: We have a bit a roach problem. They live in the basement and come up through the pipes. Not so bad in winter, but summer is a bit scary. This year they seem to have finally sprayed, I haven't seen any for about two months. Hoping they will stay gone.
