Dream apartment in Ithaca

I found this apartment while looking a lot for a place that accepted pets, the management was amazing and the apartment was even better than in pictures. It gets sun and light all day, appliances are great, very quiet (except sometimes for heavy upstairs neighbors) and full of dogs! Love living downtown and love my new home

Newly renovated!

Upgrades in cabinetry, energy star appliances with dishwasher and in-unit laundry. Smart locks on the doors along with fiber internet keeps it tech friendly.

Nice and clean

I like living here. It’s further from campus but a 7 min walk to the bus stop or if you have a car, it’s negligible

Great place to live

Ironworks is a great building. The apartments have great space, and common areas such as the gym, study area, etc. are amazing. It is a pet friendly building. However, you need to consider that it is a bit far, the closest bus stop is 2 long blocks away (around 8 min walking) and that the area is not the best (some community centers around).

Great Building, Not Great Area

Love the building, love my apartment!
Not a great location. There area feels unsafe at times mainly due to the homeless people and recovering addicts and some people who are drinking and smoking at all hours of the day including 10am. But it's mainly at night that I don't like to walk home alone. Although there are bus stations nearby the bus either isn't running when you need it to or the bus stops at the commons and will not continue to the goodwill stop which is 6 minutes from the building. YOU NEED A CAR!
Management is fine and but the add ons are expensive. You pay for water and electric which is around $80 a month. I pay for storage for an additional $75. And the most ridiculous fee is parking for $300 a month.

Decent Living Condition but with Certain Downsides

Pros:
-Great restaurants and coffee shops nearby
-Downtown proximity
-Great lounge space to hang out and host parties in
-Nice home appliances
-Large closet space

Cons:
-The W State Road is sketchy with scary-looking people
-Noise!! Garbage Truck in the morning, really loud
-Gym has lots of fancy equipment like Peletons but relatively small
-Coffee machine has been broken for a month and still not fixed
-40 mins to commute to Sage by bus

Good

The apartment is relatively new and have all the amenities. It has very spacious closets, nice bathrooms, very friendly management, etc. However, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy during nights, so if you are a girl walking alone after midnight, I would recommend taking Uber.
