it's a nice place to live

the apartment complex was great. My lease was old so the rent was nice, but new lease is somewhere near 4000 per month for 2 bedroom. No bus, so have to drive to school.

VOR and surrounding area is better than communities to the west of UTC in that it feels much more residential. The streets are way quieter than those places. Very nice landscape, bbq area. Maintenance and management is responsive. Gated community with actually functioning gates. Downside: no bus, have to drive.

I have been in this community for three years now. I really like the floor plans. In addition, inside the community, there are four pools, a fitness center, and many more amenities. It is very welcoming and clean. The fitness center could be bigger and if you train seriously it will not be enough for you. Plus, it is underground and it can get kind of stuffy since there are no windows. I really like the pools. The maintenance team is always available and they will fix any issue you might have - even though, depending on who takes on the task, it might take more or less time. There is always plenty of parking available in the gated garage, and also there is plenty of street and guest parking.

The walls are very thin so you will hear the noises of your neighbors, but you can always contact the resident services office and complain if they get too annoying. Also, def avoid getting an apartment facing the main streets because it will get noisy with garbage trucks coming three times a day. Apartments facing the inside of the community are perfect. Also, look for an apartment that is not in direct sunlight as that will keep the temperature cool during summer. They do have AC anyway.

If you don't have a car, the community does not have good access to public transportation, but they have a private shuttle running throughout the year to and from UCSD. It runs every 15-20 minutes.

As far as safety, the whole community is gated (garages too), and they have security patrolling at night.

I would definitely say this is among the top 5 communities in the UTC area (other good ones are Solazzo and Regents - and if you want luxury then look into LUX and Palisade).
