Innova

Very convenient and close to the CWRU HEC and dental clinic. The downside is management is very slow at responding or they tend to ignore on purpose. The plus side is that there usually aren't that many issues and you don't have to deal with them more than once or twice.

Close to HEC but not much else

I like my apartment, though it is pricey, because of it's proximity to the HEC school building. There are, however, few options in the neighborhood for things to do or for food, so it depends what's important for you near your apartment

Good apartment right by HEC

If you are looking for an apartment with modern amenities, you should definitely consider Innova. Each apartment comes equipped with state of the art appliances and your own washer/dryer. It is also conveniently located right across the street from the HEC and is only an easy 15-20 minute walk to Case's main campus. The apartment is on the more expensive side, so you certainly need to budget more for living expenses. There is a gym that has all the necessary equipment free to use (treadmill, elliptical, free weights), although it is sparse. There are a few food options right below the apartment complex (pizza, subs, sushi, burgers), but night as many as would be if you were in the heart of University Circle. If you plan to have pets, they only charge a one time fee and then you can have multiple animals, which is nice. Overall, Innova is a really nice place to live; your biggest challenge will be deciding if it is worth the cost of rent compared to other places.

The Official Innova - CWRU Review

PROS

1. Location - the BEST location for a CWRU graduate student (right across the street from the HEC and Cleveland Clinic

2. Amenities - nice sized gym; large lounge room with kitchen; rooftop patio with lounge chairs, fire pits, TVs, and BBQ; washer/dryer in-unit; appliances all new and standard; vinyl flooring; shower (no bath); nice-sized closet; mail room in the front lobby; pet-friendly (dog-area in front)

3. Parking (not included) - large concrete parking structure with covered spaces and security gates

4. Security - 24-hour security (front desk); key fobs for access to the entire building

CONS

1. Very expensive

2. Neighborhood (safety can be an issue in this area but the apartment is very safe with security at the front 24/7)

Innova Apartment

Very spacious and convenient. Right across the street from the HEC. There is a gym on the second floor. Inside the apartment there is a washer and a dryer. Very nice concierge and efficient when needing things fxed or changed at the apartment.

Innova Apartments

This is a great place for students to live that are attending class at the HEC. It is literally right across the street from the HEC so walking and not having to find parking is a great convenience. It is expensive, but the apartments are really nice and I have had zero issues all year long. There is a parking garage behind the building and a gym on the second floor. There is a common area to study or hangout on the 6th floor and also a rooftop space.

Getting around Hough

Hough Reviews

This neighborhood is fairly close to many restaurants and very close to the medical campus; however, it is also not a very safe area and I would not feel comfortable walking alone in this area at night.
The neighbors in adjacent buildings host loud parties frequently but you will not be able to hear it from inside the apartment. The people in the area are generally friendly. Most strangers ask me how my day is going or wish me a nice day on my walk to campus.
The neighborhood does not feel safe to walk around at night, but it is very close to campus so it is a tradeoff.
The surrounding neighborhood is not ideal, but I have never felt unsafe as a resident. If you travel in the right directions, there should not be a problem. I run outside by myself during the day and have always felt perfectly safe. There have been a very small number of incidents outside of the complex at night, but the building is secure and if you avoid walking outside alone at night then it shouldn't be a concern. I would qualify the HEC/Cleveland Clinic campus/University Circle more as my "neighborhood" than Hough itself since that is where I spend most of my time.
Very close to the school and clinic. Other than that there isn’t too much to do- it’s mostly the medical buildings. There are a few places to eat and CWRU main campus is within walking distance. The grocery stores that I like in Cleveland (Trader Joe’s and Giant Eagle) are a bit of a drive ~25 minutes. The closest target and Walmart and also a ~15 minute drive.
There's not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, however there are a couple of restaurants (Penn Station, Fluffy Duck, Urban Kitchen) and a pharmacy on the first floor. There's more space for other shops/restaurants to open in the future. Plus, there's a Rite Aid right across the street, and the convenient walk to both UH and CCF are great!
Most residents here are docs or pre-docs. Very polite and respectful to each other.
There's not a lot of stuff to do, but it's close enough to the HEC that I feel fairly safe walking back at night.
