Innova Living

Innova is a luxury apartment building. A mix of students, nurses, residents, and doctors live there. There are very few children but a good mix of young and older professionals.

The building is very nice -- granite counter tops in the kitchen, good gym, a nice sun deck and rec room. They have appetizers and wine every Friday afternoon/evening for free. The internet is fiber optic and very fast. There are special bike lockers out back, a well-lit parking lot with assigned spots, and stores on the first floor.

The management has been very responsive to the small issues which have come up, usually sending someone the next day to check out the problem.

With all of this, you get what you pay for. Innova is expensive. I got a great deal on a smaller (now unavailable) 1 bedroom and a student discount. Splitting rent with one other person still puts it at the very top of my budget. However, the great location (12 minute, relatively safe walk to campus) and wonderful amenities have made it worthwhile so far.

Great place to live!

Close walk to school (~15 minutes), close proximity to the Cleveland Clinic, shops opening up downstairs soon (including Penn Station sandwich shop, drug store, and possibly cafe), concierge available 24/7 (and all are very nice), gym in the building. The major problem is the expensive cost compared to other apartments in the area.

Getting around Hough

Hough Reviews

This neighborhood is fairly close to many restaurants and very close to the medical campus; however, it is also not a very safe area and I would not feel comfortable walking alone in this area at night.
The neighbors in adjacent buildings host loud parties frequently but you will not be able to hear it from inside the apartment. The people in the area are generally friendly. Most strangers ask me how my day is going or wish me a nice day on my walk to campus.
The neighborhood does not feel safe to walk around at night, but it is very close to campus so it is a tradeoff.
The surrounding neighborhood is not ideal, but I have never felt unsafe as a resident. If you travel in the right directions, there should not be a problem. I run outside by myself during the day and have always felt perfectly safe. There have been a very small number of incidents outside of the complex at night, but the building is secure and if you avoid walking outside alone at night then it shouldn't be a concern. I would qualify the HEC/Cleveland Clinic campus/University Circle more as my "neighborhood" than Hough itself since that is where I spend most of my time.
Very close to the school and clinic. Other than that there isn’t too much to do- it’s mostly the medical buildings. There are a few places to eat and CWRU main campus is within walking distance. The grocery stores that I like in Cleveland (Trader Joe’s and Giant Eagle) are a bit of a drive ~25 minutes. The closest target and Walmart and also a ~15 minute drive.
There's not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, however there are a couple of restaurants (Penn Station, Fluffy Duck, Urban Kitchen) and a pharmacy on the first floor. There's more space for other shops/restaurants to open in the future. Plus, there's a Rite Aid right across the street, and the convenient walk to both UH and CCF are great!
Most residents here are docs or pre-docs. Very polite and respectful to each other.
There's not a lot of stuff to do, but it's close enough to the HEC that I feel fairly safe walking back at night.
