Situated just south of Lady Bird Lake lies South River City, commonly referred to as Travis Heights. This trendy, upscale neighborhood’s history dates back to the late 1800s, and development took off here in the 1920s. This complex is south of the river, and south of all the shops/restaurants on South Congress. This makes it close enough to walk to those venues if you want to, but it's also nice to be a little bit separate to the really crowded area.

Travis Oaks
It is convenient to getting on Town Lake and going down town. Within a few miles of HEB and Trader Joe's. There are a few sketchy people but if you keep your stuff locked up or in your apt you should be fine.

Safe neighborhood.
Lots of families.
Close to one convenience store/gas station.
Close to one bar/restaurant. 5 minute drive to South Congress/Downtown Very quiet. Close to I-35 highway. Pet friendly. Walkable.

The area is famous for being close to everything, south congress, downtown austin and UT campus. Moreover, it has access to the beautiful lady bird lake to enjoy morning walk or jogging. It is also a nice safe area and relatively quiet.

Great neighborhood to visit, just alright to live in.

- There are lots of restaurants but few are quick serve and many are pricey, so they get old fast.
- Very nice to be next to Zilker and Town Lake, but we don't use it as often as we could. - Being close to a large park that hosts lots of large events and located at a major intersection (Barton Springs and S. Lamar), there are lots of drunks, bad drivers, litterers, and homeless people. Also, lots of aggressive bikers illegally using the sidewalk which makes walking your dog a nuisance.
