The Barton Creek Greenbelt, runs right through the neighborhood - a popular area for locals to enjoy hiking, biking, rock climbing, and swimming. At the end of the nature trail, towards the northern boundary of Barton Hills, lies Zilker Metropolitan Park. Canoeing and kayaking are available in this dog-friendly park the residents love to visit. Lady Bird Lake is another lovely option for enjoying the beauty of nature. Residents also get to enjoy performance theater and musical acts, as well as great shopping and nightlife - all close by.

There are also great places to eat and socialize the residents of Barton Hills enjoy. Restaurants and cafes include Kerbey Lane Cafe, Pluckers Wings Bar, The ABGB, and Tacodeli. There is also the local grocery store Central Market for convenience. Barton Hills is perfect for anyone looking for a residential community with a heavy emphasis on outdoorsy activities and fun.

Barton Hills — 7.4/10 Rating (based on 5 neighborhood reviews)
-An exit away from downtown
-walking distance to the greenbelt and zilker park (major bonus around ACL, FUN FUN FUN, and Trail of Lights)
-a little bit trapped because of the highway in times of high traffic. You only have one way out and that means Mopac
-you have to drive a bit to get to a gas station that isn't in Collingwood/Bee Caves aka more expensive than normal gas stations
-there are always a lot of people walking dogs so I feel comfortable walking and running at most times

Gables At The Terrace
I love the Barton Creek neighborhood. There are plenty of restaurants right next to my apartment and 3 comic book/board game shops within a five minute drive. It's perfect for me!

The Woods On Barton Skyway
Great for being close to the Greenbelt and walkable to Zilker, however there is literally NOTHING to walk to in terms of grocery (just a small mart), restaurants (love having Tacodeli close but it closes mid-afternoon), bars, stores, etc. Makes me tempted to move downtown..
