Allandale

Located in north-central Austin, just north of downtown, Allandale offers a neighborhood with a traditional suburban setting and quiet atmosphere. Most of its homes were built in the 1950s and 60s. Today, it is a close-knit community - its neighborhood association was established in 1973, which is active in bringing its residents together with local events such as the annual Fourth of July parade, Amenities include the Northwest Recreation Center for indoor sports and activities, and the recently upgraded Beverly Sheffield Park, as well as the nearby Charles Alan Wright Fields.

The peaceful town also offers places perfect for nights out. Spots highly recommended and worth a visit include Phil’s Ice House, The Peached Tortilla, Tacodeli, and Lucy’s Fried Chicken. Bars in town include Little Woodrow’s Burnet, Billy’s On Burnet, Barley Swine, the Little Longhorn Saloon, and The Aristocrat Lounge. There is also a convenient grocery store called H-E-B. A little farther away is Central Market. Allandale is a great place for those looking to live in a community with a classic suburbia feel.
