Great Place to Stay for Value

It has a very home like feel and is great value for money. It's very safe as well. I loved the complex,especially with the lake.

Great place to live as a Fuqua student if you are looking for something a bit closer to school, quieter, and cheaper than S9!

Economical and Accessible

It's easy to get to school with the bus stop super close. Also, walking distance is easy - you just take the bus if you don't want to sweat on a hot NC day or if it's raining. I saved on a parking pass at school living here and paid cheaper rent than a lot of classmates. This place has a reputation for undergrads but I've honestly never seen it. Every year it seems more and more grad students, single and married move in here. The gym is great and the pool space is 'dope.' Take advantage of the lake if you enjoy fishing or just watching the turtles. You can run laps around the lake on a nice track if you feel like running outside but don't want to leave the complex. A lot of bang for your buck here. Great access to 15-501 too and Kroger is around the corner.

Great apartments close to campus.

Lived at The Belmont for 2 years and have loved it. School is a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride away. Apartments are nice and fairly affordable for being so close to school.

7 minute bike ride to campus is awesome. Nice gym and pool. No complaints.

Near the bus stop to Fuqua, near USPS, near Kroger. Clean, lots of trees and a lake, timely maintenance. Safe.

Best economic option to live near school

Belmont is located very near school (20 mins by walk, 15 mins by bus with bus stop right outside the apartment). Amenities in the apartment are great, I have spacious room including bathroom and storage room. There are not many Fuquans living here but since it is very near Station 9 (10 mins by car) it is easy to join events when you want to. The only concern is that the parking is outdoor, and occasionally management leaves the gate open which might raise concern about security. Overall, a great choice if you are looking for an apartment on a cheaper side with great facility and location.

It's been perfectly fine. People are nice but it's not much of a community, just a place where people live. Behind the Belmont which had a spate of robberies a few months back, but the Flats is further away from the main road and is better lit. So far no security incidents or concerns at the Flats. Affordability depends on which apartment complex you choose in the Erwin-LaSalle area. Wide range in rents, ranging from very expensive to very affordable depending on which one you pick.

The broader neighborhood's chief attribute is convenience to Duke. A lot of students live in the apartment complexes around here. It can be inconvenient sometimes getting to a supermarket from the neighborhood, though (eventually they're going to re-open a Harris Teeter on Hillsborough, which should mitigate this issue somewhat).

The neighborhood was perfectly fine when I started living there, but recently there have been some armed robberies in apartment buildings that are about a 10 minute walk away. However, I would like to say that I have not felt unsafe walking home at night and the security at Trinity is quite high. For example, you have to use a special key to get into the lobby (where a security guard sits after dark) and then you have to use the key to get in from the lobby to where the rooms are, and then again to get into your room. There are about 10 good restaurants within walking distance ranging from greek food to Mexican food to sushi so it's great for a quick dinner when you don't want to cook. There is also a hair salon and a manicure place, as well as a Walgreens pharmacy. We are very close to Duke Hospital and the bus systems are very accessible.

The apartments are close to campus and easily accessible through bus, bike, or walking if desired. There is a nearby Kroger that is a less than 5 min drive away just up LaSalle St. Overall, there are some older apartments further up the road that have had issues with crime in the past, but The Heights and other apartments around the area seemed to be insulated from those issues.

The food in the area is really accessible and I feel quite safe in the surrounding area, excluding the gas stations and bus stop. I've heard some odd things at night but never seen anything fishy and feel safe coming home at night. +Tons of dogs!

Lofts is right next to a few restaurants - TGIFridays, Chipotle, Enzo's, Noodles, Smash Burger, Sushi Love, etc. The Kroger grocery store is just a few minutes away, off of Lasalle. This is a quiet neighborhood.

Quiet neighbourhood. Conveniently located to West Campus and walking distance to Fuqua. Easy and healthy fast food options nearby. Close to food stores e.g. Kroger & Harris Teeter. Close to WaDuke trail.

Not the safest neighborhood and has little transit. There have been issues at other apartment complexes with safety, but Heights has been very safe. It is absolutely fine to walk around in the day here, but not at night. There are not very many restaurants or bars nearby, although downtown Durham is 10 minutes away.
