Do not rent from TBS Properties

There were multiple issues with this property, most of them being illegal in the city of Chicago. The complex is in a fantastic location with lovely bars and restaurants surrounding which is a positive, but that's about the only one. The apartment was infested with mice, had black mold, no central air or heat which meant the bathroom continued to build up the mold over the year we lived there, they only installed electric baseboard heaters which are not sufficient heat for an apartment, so we spent most of the winter shivering in an apartment that couldn't reach above 58 degrees. By the way, the city of Chicago requires your landlord by law to heat your apartment to 65 degrees minimum. Additionally, the apartments are filthy and not clean when you move in, there are no storm windows, and the appliances might be from the 1950's. Management does not take kindly to you have any sort of request, let alone an issue, so cross your fingers you never need to talk to them. Overall, it was the worst experience I've ever had with an apartment or a mangement comapny and I actively tell people not to rent from TBS Properties.
