Great Building

No complaints. MILA's units are a bit small (closets are small) for the price but the staff is super helpful, the building is about as pet-friendly as you can get on Michigan Ave, and the units are well maintained. Dog run is clutch.

Love it here

Great building. Door staff is awesome, repairs are done super quickly (though it's a brand new building and honestly I've only ever had to fix a broken closet door) and pet facilities (dog run, dog grooming area) are always super clean.

One thing - my rent is WAY higher than comparable units right now. Try to take over a current 2Y's lease OR sign a lease not starting in July / August to not get gouged on pricing. My unit is way cheaper now but, of course, not going to move mid-2Y.

Also, MILA's walls are SUPER thick. Didn't think I would care about this til a) hung out at MPP, which is essentially a constant party you can hear through the walls and b) I heard the other dogs barking on my floor. You can hear them in the hallway, but inside the apartments, it's TOTALLY SILENT. Game. Changer.

Michigan + Lake is a lame neighborhood for everyone, but MILA's proximity to MPP / 73 / MDA and the train to Harper / walk to Gleacher is worth it. Don't live further away, even if the neighborhood is cuter. Your friends are here and you'll become a silent 200 if you live somewhere else.

Great building and location

Awesome building - in good condition, with responsive management, modern interiors and nice shared amenities. Close enough to the center of all Booth activities so you don't feel out of the way at all.

MILA One Bedroom

If you're willing to spend a little more than some older buildings, this building is quite nice. It's pretty new and I've almost never had any issues with heating, appliances, etc. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. I frequently use the gym in the building, which saves me money on a separate gym membership. The building is dog-friendly so you should expect to regularly see dogs here.

Amazing place to have a social life! It is super close to Gleacher and to where recruiting events take place. Most Boothies live in this area and that helps creating a nice community. West loop with amazing restaurants is 2 metro stops/5min uber. TNDCs also happen walking distance. Its also where most touristic attractions are so its great for when friends/family visit you.
You should live in the Loop because it's easy for transit to campus and you're near others for group meetings. As soon as I graduate I'm planning on leaving though. You're by tons of shops and takeout/fast casual restaurants. However, I much prefer the neighborhood bars and restaurants in Lincoln Park.
Columbus plaza is on the quieter side, a few blocks away from Michigan. Tides and park millennium are even quieter but lack the river views that CP offers. It can be a bit too empty at night, which may be of concern to some. Most of the nearby restaurants in the pedway focus on serving office workers so they close around 6pm. Great access to river walk for running or biking.
This is the best neighborhood for Booth students to live, in my opinion. You can easily walk to Gleacher Center, catch the train to Harper Center, see most of your fellow students within your building or next door, and go to other neighborhoods for outings.
Living here is great because it's where all the Booth students live. It's the downtown area so it's not ideal for the social scene, but we're close enough to the action where it doesn't matter much. Also, we're across the street from the train.
Like living in the Loop to be near other students and it is not too far from other neighborhoods with good restaurants, bars, etc., but is a little far from work out studios, supermarkets, etc.
I like living in the Loop because 1) I'm close to the majority of other Booth students and 2) I'm close to the metra train, which I take ~4 days a week to get to and from campus.
The loop is a great place to live as a Booth student since it’s so quick and easy to get to campus. It’s not my favorite part of Chicago, but for school it’s a good place to be.
