Beautiful Property, Wouldn't Recommend

Beautiful building with many nice features. The dog run and spa are fantastic. I appreciated all the coworking spaces. But as nice as the building and staff are, I would not recommend living here to a friend. The staff’s approach to safety protocols during the latter half of covid was simultaneously haphazard and too extreme. Maintenance employees regularly did not wear masks properly and complained about the policy while residents would often walk around the building unmasked. Conversely, I was reprimanded by the building’s only security guard on duty (who was sent away from the front desk to the 17th floor) for appearing on the building’s cameras with my mask off. At the time, I was sitting in an empty coworking space. Managers sent out increasingly threatening emails stating that they vigilantly review the camera footage and will shut off residents’ access to amenities (without compensating their rent) if residents are caught unmask. Additionally, many of those amenities will cost you: $300-500 per month to reserve an office, $5-10 an hour to reserve a coworking space that sits empty 99% of the time, fees on the ATM, $500 for parking.
The key system is also unnecessarily difficult. All doors and rooms are only accessible by using an app to unlock them from your phones. This system frequently led to traffic jams at building entrances while residents stumbled through their phones, struggling to open doors. On more than one occasion, I had packages that could not be delivered because the front desk was left unattended and delivery personnel could not enter the lobby. Even US postal workers had difficulty entering the building, so much so that I was once turned over to a credit agency because the post office repeatedly could not deliver a credit card bill. During the holidays, the building sent out an email stating that the building was not designed to accommodate so many packages (even though, at the time, the building was only at 25-50% capacity). Managers asked residents to have the packages delivered to our offices or a family member or friend’s house.
In summary, as nice as the finishes in the building are, you pay a hefty penny for small rooms, a small pool, and are consistently reminded by emails (such as those requesting you mail your packages elsewhere or repeated threats to review camera footage for rulebreakers) that this isn’t really your home.
