Great value on the apartment market

2nd year at Ella. I haven't had many issues. The property managers have been making small incremental changes to better the resident experience, like their new package system.

Neighborhood feels safe and has standard amenities for a complex - pool, gym, common spaces, parking, and laundry in-unit.

There has been a couple cases of car break-ins, which unfortunately is common in atlanta. Thankfully my car was not impacted, and I have not seen this with my own eyes. Moreso what I've heard.

Publix is right next to the property.

Gated Community in East Lake

Overall Review: It has been a solid experience living here but a bunch of things they could improve on. Dislike how they handle a lot of the administrative things and do not feel valued as a resident.

Status: Current Resident, moved in July 2022

Pros:
-solid community of working professionals
-relatively quiet area (sometimes people play music but overall I havent had any issues with excessive noise
-close to Publix and the golf course
-close to Interstate 20 East and within 15-20 mins from most of the city
-Leasing office has decent people that work there
-The leasing agent stayed 30+ mins late to wait for me to arrive in town to pick up my keys.
-they held a few community events to bring residents out for dinner and some wine
-There is parking and i so far haven't had many issues with it. Sometimes may need to park in the back of the lot but it isn't much of an issue
-Parking lot has charging stations for electric vehicles
-There is a gym, clubhouse, and pool

Cons:
-Poor communication leading up to my move-in date (received communications weeks after originally suggested, and I kept having to reach out to them for updates)
-Occasionally garbage isn't picked up on time, while we are constantly updated about penalties and fees for simple things such as not leaving your garbage bag inside the bins they gave (basically you then cant use your garbage until after they come to pick it up. Supposed to be 8 pm but usually come after 11 pm Sun - Thurs)
-Hours for amenities (gym, pool, common area) are very limited (close around 8 or 10pm for all of them. Difficult for people who get home late
-mail office is in shambles with zero order. No mail system to keep track of when residents receive packages. Literally a free for all in there and you have to spend time looking for your package(s) through the many other packages in the mail room.
-Predatory rent payment systems with shortcomings that only reminded residents of their payment AFTER the rent deadline already passed (reminding them that rent is due plus the late fee)
-The leasing office seems more concerned about generating revenue than about providing service to its residents. Feels like a money grab at times with the penalty fees and the refusals to help resolve issues
-The leasing office fails to acknowledge many of these shortcomings and instead, plays politics as if there is no issue.
-There is at least 1 broken gate (when you first enter the complex) at least every few weeks
-Elevators have been out of order for a few days at a time. Hasn't been an issue in the recent months though.
-Alarm box for the building tend to always transmit noises and is quite annoying to hear every time we walk in and out of the building.
