It's Fine
Pros:
- Proximity to SEPTA
- Proximity to class
- Proximity to grocery store, restaurants, etc.
- Three closets, which is nice.
- Never felt unsafe at or near the building.
Cons:
- Parking sucks. There are eight or nine parking spaces at the building. Everyone else has to park down the street at a different building owned by Altman. Parking is $40 a month.
- Rent. For what we're getting, $1300 is insane.
- Management is unresponsive and unprofessional. You can barely get a straight answer out of them sometimes (if you do get an answer).
- Elevator is old, regularly breaks, and has trapped people inside on several occasions. They told us it would be replaced in October 2025. At time of writing (March 2026), we're still waiting.
- Maintenance is picky about when they decide to help. Sometimes they'll actually help. Sometimes they'll go into your apartment for less than a minute (literally) and then mark work as completed when they didn't actually do anything.
- Not very ADA accessible. There's one ramp on the side of the building, but the parking "lot" is so narrow that it's impossible to get in and out efficiently. See point about elevator, too. If you have a medical emergency, forget about being put on a gurney, because the elevator is too small to fit one.
- Heat regularly doesn't work in the winter. There was a week or so where we had minimal or zero heat.
- Laundry is SO expensive. Minimum $5 a load, and people regularly leave stuff in the machines.

Bryn Mawr Gables
I have had a great experience living in the Bryn Mawr Gables. It is approximately a 5-minute drive to Villanova law school, which is incredibly convenient. The property is very standard and reflects the relatively low price compared to other more luxurious apartments in the surrounding area. Management is always a response and the building is always very quiet. There are no amenities besides living essentials.
The apartment has limited parking spaces, and street parking is difficult if you opt not to purchase a lot pass.
