25 minute drive from School - Skip deserted South loop for cool neighborhood, spacious lincoln park, and lively North Avenue Beach

If you own a car, definitely consider living in Old Town. It's a neat neighborhood with way more to do than South Loop (also you can walk to the best TNDCs), it's a hop away from Lake Shore Drive so you'll beat your friends from MPP to school, and you're next to the largest park in the city - Lincoln Park. It's also 5 minutes from North Avenue beach, arguably the best beach in the city. There's a rooftop pool, gym, and the apartments are nice.

Eugenie Terrace Apt Review

Killer views and location. Small number of people live in Old Town/Lincoln Park from Rush, but being so close to the lake has some huge perks. Apt is pet friendly and the park is ideal for pet owners. Not ideal for someone who doesn't own a car as it is 0.5-0.7 mile away from the Brown & Red lines - both of which require changes to get to school. Easy 15-20 min drive though. Rent is a little steep, but it includes a lot. It's also rent controlled so not sure what the building is going for now.

Eugenie Terrace Review

This apartment is awesome and maintenance is super responsive. It's great being across the street from the park and the beaches. I love waking up to a lake view every morning! The building also has a gym, pool and sauna (which I like using in the winter for stress relief). Prices for apartments vary greatly depending on high up and what side that you are facing. There's also a Farmer's Market across the street every Saturday and Wednesday in the spring/summer/fall. Plenty of street parking for guests and always things happening in the park. There's also tons of nightlife on Wells St with bars, restaurants and Second City! Cons are that it's a 7-10 minute walk to the closest L station and that you have to switch trains if you are trying to get to Rush and the driving commute is approx 20 mins which is on the longer side. Not many other med students live around here. But ideal if you want to have a little distance from school.

Perfect (But Pricey)

This building is truly fantastic. Fantastic amenities like I've seen no where else, and a roof deck that's truly impressive. There's a full gym and business center, and an in house dry cleaner. The doormen are amazing people who truly care about the residents, and any issues with the apartment (even including dead light bulbs) are dealt with promptly by the janitorial staff. This building is beautiful.

Nearby school

I'm a student at Loyola, and this is a super convenient location for that. I have been here for 3 years so far, and intend to finish my last year here as well. My girlfriend and I are super happy with the inside of the apartment as well. Its got central heating, and cooling. Views could be better but overall its a nice spot.

Great views, great staff, great apartment

Well, you certainly pay a lot to live here, so it makes sense that the experience is good. Staff is super friendly and always helpful. And the apartments are well sized with AMAZING views. Only downside now is construction that's currently getting in the way. Some days I'll wait 15 minutes for an elevator...

Amazing views

Building offers an amazing view of Lake Michigan over looking North Ave Beach. The rooftop pool is a great spot int eh summer to meet some other the neighbors. The gym in the building is pretty large for a condo building gym. The price for the units is a little high for what else is out there but over all its a great building.

Great Location

Eugenie Terrace has a spectacular view, with really good value. The apartments are a little expensive, but living right on Clark is so convenient. The lake is right in front of your face, and there is a ton that is within walkable distance from the building. Additionally, the gym is nice and easy because it's located right in the building.

Eugenie Terrace

LOVE the location, in relation to the neighborhood... but being on such a busy street is a little rough sometimes and the wind is HORRIBLE in the winter. The bitter cold from the lake literally makes a person want to die. Management is AMAZING at home

Lincoln Park Reviews

107 reviews
Love living in Lincoln Park - so many good restaurants and parks around, and it's more removed from the busy downtown area. It's nice to have a little bit of distance from campus. There are multiple bus routes to the hospital (151, 22, 36) that are reliable and usually run every 15-30mins. I thought the commute might be bad, but it's the same amount of time that it previously took me to walk from my Gold Coast apartment to school, and I'm much happier living in LP. Only downside is that while it's cheaper than Streeterville/Gold Coast, it's still a pretty expensive area to live. Having roommates helps a lot and cheaper options do exist, but they're generally further from campus.
This neighborhood is great if you are mainly into packed sports bars. Other than that, though, it also has a variety of restaurants, many of which are BYOB, and there is a Whole Foods half a block away. You can also join the DePaul gym as a non-student for about $80/month. It's about 2 blocks away and has absolutely everything you would want.
Lincoln Park is a great neighborhood, lots to do and safe for the most part. This building is located between two L stops and on a busy street with a bus that runs frequently. The grocery stores are a bit of a hike, especially when Carrying your bags. Living next to the blues bars is good entertainment on late night, but can draw in a sketch crowd
Lincoln Park is the perfect neighborhood for anyone post-graduate and up. Great restaurants, fun bars, and close proximity to other popular Chicago neighborhoods, you really can't go wrong anywhere in the neighborhood. Mostly populated by college kids, young professionals, and new parents, you always feel safe when walking around. Everything important is within walking distance and when the weather is warm, there is nothing better than walking around Lincoln Park Zoo or the Lakefront Trail. Additionally, the red line, purple line, and brown line are all easily accessible. There are also ample bus stops and bike lanes.
I've lived in Lincoln Park for almost 3 years and absolutely love it. The area is relatively safe, there are tons of bar/restaurants, the lake is a short walk away, there are many public transit options and there's an overall energetic vibe since it's full of young professionals and new families.
it's an excellent neighborhood, right outside the lincoln park zoo. there are some restaurants and shops within walking distance. although you still have to walk a little bit, maybe 15-25 minutes. extremely safe neighborhood, very social. great for families
This neighborhood combines the ease of the city with the feeling of a more suburban neighborhood. There are many nearby bars, restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. At the same time, there are great schools and side streets that feel very residential.
This particular part of Lincoln park is great. It's a quieter area with a nice mix of young families, young professionals, and students. Easy access to many grocery stores. Unfortunately it's about a 12 minute walk from the el.
