Location is the best

I love the location of my apt and the amenities. I have in-unit washer and dryer, disposal, dishwasher. New building with hardwood floors in all apts. Tall ceilings and floor to ceiling windows in most apts.

1225 old town review

Great building - amenities are great. Pool is small but nice and well maintained. Theater room can be rented out for free. Units are spacious and nice. One con is that the door staff has gotten progressively less friendly over the last year or so.

Great Building, Bad Management

The building itself is great with great amenities! I do think the rent is overpriced compared with the actual quality of the building. The management company was somewhat difficult to work with as a tenant, but they are always trying to improve their offerings for residents.

Definitely Pricey but I love it

My apartment has everything I could ever want... in-unit laundry, great size, great view, balcony, updated kitchen, good door staff, facilities are always spotless, quick walk to the el and numerous grocery stores, bars/restaurants. Only con is the price!

Great building

The front door staff and maintenance crew are impeccable.
I feel very secure and am always greeted by the utmost professionalism. The building is a little bro-like in terms of the residents, but I can easily over look that for what I've come to call a great home to live.

Great building, occupants, mgmt and location

We love living in this building! The community and location are awesome and the management staff really work to make living here fun, with lots of community activities and engagement. The door staff is friendly and helpful and the maintenance team is quick and thorough. The units are nice and well kept. The only downside is that the rent is fairly high for Chicago and they gave us a pretty substantial increase at renewal. However, we paid it, because we love the building.

Nice place, but flaws

This place is nice but it has many flaws. For example, the maintenance staff does not rush to your priorities right away - an issue that I had when my washer broke down. However, the location is very nice. In the heart of Old Town, you are right on Wells Street and a lot of young people live here.

Old Town Reviews

Very nice neighborhood feel, peaceful, close to bars and restaurants in Lincoln park and old town. 20 min commute to feinberg via bus
I love Old Town for its amazing restaurant choices. That and it is beautiful to walk through (Old Town Triangle and side streets). It is wonderful being close to the beach and walking distance to downtown. One of the things I am not particularly fond of is the "Brotastic" atmosphere at most of the bars but it goes with the territory.
Old Town is the best neighborhood in Chicago! We are situated perfectly within all the best Chicago has to offer, everything is super close and walkable, and there is so much to do! It is a historical area where you can learn more about the city's history before the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and also grab drinks and dinner at fun restaurants!
The neighborhood could be more secure to be honest. There have been a few times where I would not want to walk alone at night--and I'm a guy that can fend for himself. I recommend having a car or an escort instead of walking alone at night. But overall its really not bad.
There are plenty of grocery stores in the neighborhood with feasible prices for the city which is nice. Additionally, there are plenty of fast food as well as restaurants in this area and a great bar scene as well. There's always something to do.
Everything you could ever want is in walking distance; such a fun area! Parking garages nearby for car storage. Lots of restaurants and bars. Right by the zoo, the beach, the city...it's just the perfect location.
Tons of bars and restaurants, and great for anyone in their 20s to 30s. Easy to walk to hair salons, nails salons, Walgreens, and the grocery store. Also, plenty of work out classes and gym close by.
Neighborhood is great, you can't beat being right on Wells in the middle of all the action. There are several great restaurants and bars to enjoy within a short walking distance.
