Convenient and Good
The apartment is incredibly convenient to campus and downtown. The apartment itself is fairly nice and comfortable. Shared housing reduces rates and allows you to get apartment furnished, include utilities/internet/cable in flat rent price, and have separate lease from roommate. Management is a bit annoying to deal with at times, but you only usually have this problem about 2-3 times a year, so not something to take heavily into consideration- especially since this management owns most of the properties in the area, so you'll likely deal with them at another place anyway.

Long walk to campus
Biggest complaint is the location from the law school. It is a 45 minute walk, and the bus is fast during summer but SO low in the winter. Can take 20 minutes in the morning (plus waiting time), and on the way home its even longer (25-30 minutes). On weekends this is a huge pain when trying to get to the library. Mac had promised a shuttle and took it away, so getting home after 6pm is a challenge.
However, the apartment is GORGEOUS. Id recommend the renovated. Love my unit, love my view. Love being with other law students- and great amenities.

Great for law students
Regents is great for law students because of its proximity to the law school, public transit, and other students, but it's pricey and far from the fun of downtown. It's not a chore to live here, though, and I honestly love it except for the price and the no washer/dryer in-unit thing.

Terrible management
Regents Park management team has been inefficient and terribly organized. They maintain an online portal for rent payment that often over-post the amount of rent due, and attribute past payment to wrong apartments. They have not figured out a way to fix this issue.
Regents pool is dirty and has caused skin conditions.

Regents: It's Okay
Regents is a pricey building, but there are a lot of amenities and it's nice to live in the same spot as a lot of other law students. I like the pool and the little convenience store. The bus is extremely convenient, especially in the winter. Going to the loop on transit is very easy, and so is going to the law school. My view is great--it cheers me up every day. That said...the price is high. I wish it were a little closer to the university.

Regents Park
Overall, regents is not a bad place to live, but it's a bit overpriced for what you get. My biggest complaint is that there aren't sufficient elevators for as large of a building as it is - you frequently have to wait forever (this was especially bad for a month or so period this fall when one or two of the elevators were down).

Regents Park
Regents is one of the best high-rise options in Hyde Park. It can be a little pricey if you don't have a student discount, but it is very convenient to get to campus as well as downtown. The staff is very nice but the experience has decreased since MAC has taken over.

Regents Park Apartments
Close to the south side of Chicago if you are teaching there. 24-hour concierge desk with the nicest people working. Gym, indoor, year round pool and coffee store inside the apartment. Two towers (North and South) with South allowing animals. Parking garage for an additional fee, which will be nice come the cold Chicago winter!
