I love Old Town for its amazing restaurant choices. That and it is beautiful to walk through (Old Town Triangle and side streets). It is wonderful being close to the beach and walking distance to downtown. One of the things I am not particularly fond of is the "Brotastic" atmosphere at most of the bars but it goes with the territory.
Old Town is the best neighborhood in Chicago! We are situated perfectly within all the best Chicago has to offer, everything is super close and walkable, and there is so much to do! It is a historical area where you can learn more about the city's history before the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and also grab drinks and dinner at fun restaurants!
The neighborhood could be more secure to be honest. There have been a few times where I would not want to walk alone at night--and I'm a guy that can fend for himself. I recommend having a car or an escort instead of walking alone at night. But overall its really not bad.
There are plenty of grocery stores in the neighborhood with feasible prices for the city which is nice. Additionally, there are plenty of fast food as well as restaurants in this area and a great bar scene as well. There's always something to do.
Tons of bars and restaurants, and great for anyone in their 20s to 30s. Easy to walk to hair salons, nails salons, Walgreens, and the grocery store. Also, plenty of work out classes and gym close by.
The neighborhood is great if you're a young, social professional. Fun bars and good restaurants. Really close to everything you need (dry cleaning, grocery, coffee shop, food).
Such a fun and quaint area! You can spend hours walking up and down Wells. There is a lively social scene yet is family friendly and very safe feeling.
Several bars and restaurants within close walking distance. Second City is right around the corner. Grocery and pharmacy also within a block.
