City Centre Studio Review

The property is nice and spacious. It does get noisy sometimes when there are parties downstairs at the lobby/Ale house.

If you are looking for a luxury building with amenities, this is ... one of several that Ithaca offers. Generally I expect a building at this price range to be hospitable to tenants, but the management was just so petty and stingy at every possible juncture. I was irritated by a few small things, by the rent increase ($500+), but what broke the camel's back was their blatant attempt to foist the final cleaning off to residents by suggesting that we pay $400 to one of their friends to do it.

As a reference, Spruce, a cleaning service app that operates in large cities and is already more expensive than most services, charges $150-80 for the equivalent work and time, maybe $200 if you do add-ons like decluttering. I think this should tell you something about the values of the people who run this place.

If the amenities are a priority for you, this place does meet expectations. Nevertheless I still recommend looking elsewhere as many other such buildings exist in Ithaca within walking distance of this one and there are hidden gems with more space at a lower cost to be found as well.

Otherwise here are some bonus complaints:
- Total disregard of legal procedure around the return of security deposits.
- Monthly $100 payment for their own Internet and "technology". They say this is to maintain the digital key system.
- Security is irregular - there's not always someone at the desk, which is what I'd usually expect at this rent bracket, but then again it's a small town.

City Centre - you get what you pay for

Generally nice apartment with good amenity. Nice gym. Overpriced. They increase the rent every year, and you have to pay utilities yourself. Internet is mandatory and $100/month, which I find an unreasonable amount. Management is just okay and sometimes irresponsive and even rude. Maintenance guys are very kind.
Thin walls.

Building is great, location is excellent and top tier gym. Cost is high fora town like Ithaca.

City Centre

Great- expensive but good value

While more expensive than other options in Ithaca, City Centre really is the best. It's convenient location (many bus options + 2 parking garages within a few mins), amenities (best gym!), and overall maintenance and cleanliness are stellar. The building is relatively new, most apartments have good natural light, and the common areas make it easy to collaborate with friends and host events if you like.
