Bad management, good building

We had serious management issues when we moved in. The management company was aware that our lease began in July, even though we wouldn't be arriving for several more weeks. They had another tenant living in the unit that we were paying rent and utilities on, hoping that we would not find out. The lack of transparency with management is an ongoing issue. The property manager recently changed, but I cannot say that we have had better luck resolving issues with the new manager.

However, there are no mice, roaches, or rats, which is a bit unusual for the area; this was important to my roommate and I. The worst pest is centipedes, which were exterminated and have not returned. The apartment building is old, so the bedroom/bathroom situation is clearly arranged as a master and a secondary setup (something to keep in mind for rent division between roommates).

It's entirely carpeted, but the carpet was new when we moved in, and the management company has a practice of switching carpet between tenants. Supposedly, the building does not allow dogs, but we see dogs coming and going constantly (likely more pet friendly than they advertise). I have a cat, and that's an extra charge of $25/month with an initial $175 fee.

The building has a pool, but that has a pretty steep monthly fee, so we have not used it.

We are very close to school, so this has been a convenient location for us, especially if we want to go home and come back to school later.

Rosemont Plaza- doesn't FEEL like the Plaza!

The building is incredibly expensive for the amount of square footage you receive. Laundry machines in the basement are constantly broken or overused. High turnover rate of management, so nothing gets done. You are overcharged for everything without any notice. As a student who lives on loans, it is not something that is student friendly by any stretch of the imagination. The only reason worth staying is the location.

Old-outdated

During my first year law school, the Rosemont Plaza apartment complex was great. However, going into my third year, the apartment complex has gone completely downhill. Property managers have switch multiple times, maintenance is a huge issue, and overall cleanliness of the building is disgusting. It was great the first two years, but cannot wait to move out in May.

Exactly what I was looking for.

My Rosemont Plaza apartment was the perfect space for my first year of law school. The building is minutes from the school, the rent is reasonable compared to surrounding apartments, especially considering most utilities are included, and the building is safe and fairly quiet.

Great place to live with great location

Great area - close to campus, walk to Byrn Mawr downtown, safe. Clean apartments, some more updated depending on the unit. Building staff and maintenance have been friendly, helpful and easy to reach in the few times I’ve needed assistance. Quiet building. No in unit washer/dryer - washers and dryers located in the basement.
