Alaris Village Apartments Review
Good Apartment

Good for the price
My apartment is very spacious for the price, I also enjoy the pool and that it is pet friendly. I have the one bedroom with the sunroom, and I love how much light it lets in. It is super close to school, it takes me about five minutes to get from my front door to the parking lot at school. I haven't had any issues with management. There are four other people from my section who live in Alaris, but there are a lot of families that live there too. All of my neighbors in my building are families.
However, it does not have much storage at all. I have a one bedroom and the only closet in the whole place is my bedroom closet. Sometimes I do not feel the safest at my apartment, during my first week living here there were some car break ins. I picked Alaris because it was gated, but the gate stays open long enough for at least 3 cars to follow through. So, the gate doesn't do a great job of keeping anyone without access out. During the day I feel fine, I have just been a little wary since getting the email about the car break ins.

Fair all around
Solid community, a stop on the Wake Line and still close to campus, Target, and Market Walmart.
Gate and pool are finicky but great when they work.
Unit was not in the greatest condition (drains and other little fixture damage, replaced the dim lights) but I wasn't expecting too much on short notice. Biggest issue is with the single trash compactor in the "middle" of the community, no other dumpster locations. It can be a bit of a walk depending on what building you're in, and trash will pile up onto the sidewalk on the weekends.

Decent, great location, but terrible maintenance
I have lived in Alaris for all three years here at Wake, and it certainly has gone downhill each year. I will say that my apartment itself and the location are two great points, but the maintenance and amenities are a low point. The gym is small and most of the machines don't always work properly, and the grounds are not properly maintained - there is often trash everywhere, the gate is usually broken, etc. So, I would say that for the price and the location it is good, but Alaris certainly is not the best.

Alaris Village Apartments Review
It is liveable, but the management doesn't take much care in the cleanliness and living environment overall.

Convenient housing for WFU graduate students
My experience living at Alaris has been wholly positive. Our apartment building is quiet and well maintained. Very convenient location for any WFU student (less than 5 minute drive to campus). There is also a bus that comes to Alaris to pick up for WFU. Only downsides for me are that there are very limited recycling options (cardboard only) and the complex is pretty far from restaurants and parks.

Review of Alaris Village
So far, I have had good experiences at Alaris Village. Typically, if we put in a maintenance request, someone comes within 24 hours. Even with the pandemic we have been able to use the pool, the gym, and the movie theatre through making reservations. You can ride the shuttle to campus.

Decent
When I first moved here 1L year (I'm a 3L), it was perfect. My only real complaint was the lack of storage in the kitchen. I drive to the law school, but there is a bus stop here that will take you right to the law school.
However, it has declined over the years. It takes longer to get things fixed (especially the trash compactor), and the neighbors are much more noisy now. I have also found a cockroach. I would recommend checking out The View at 5010 instead; I would have moved there this year if not for the pandemic.

Overall great place to be
I wasn't able to do a walkthrough of the apartment complex before signing my lease, but I could not have asked for a better result. Neighbors are quiet and many tenants are either graduate students, student-athletes, or young working individuals. Lots of families in certain buildings as well. Management is friendly and responsive and promptly responds to any maintenance requests or concerns (often times same-day fix). Overall I feel safe and plan to stay at Alaris for all of grad school.
