Crowne Oaks reviews and highlights
- great place to live
- affordable for the convenient location
- newly updated gym, pool, and office space
- safe atmosphere and quiet
- plenty of parking available
- responsive management and maintenance staff
Overall Okay
The convenience is great and the apartments are pretty spacious. We have had some plumbing issues. The biggest issue is that almost everyone I’ve met who lives at Oaks has had pretty substantial bug issues (small worms, flies, mosquitos, spiders, some roaches and big house centipedes). The complex does regular pest control but it’s unclear if that has helps.

Crowne
The crowne apartments are great and I would definitely recommend. I think crowne polo is a bit nicer and wish I had chosen there instead; however, the bus to campus is more convenient from my apartment and the one bedroom was cheaper.

Affordable, quick to respond, great location
I enjoy living at Crowne Oaks a lot and the price is right. Anytime we have had any problem, maintenance has been very quick to come by and fix it. The pool is nice, the gym is a little small, but overall everyone here is very friendly and it is very close to the University. My only complaint is that the power tends to go out two-three times a year which can be very inconvenient.

Nice complex, good amenities
Our apartment has a variety of great features and stylish appointments. We especially like how many trees the complex has, the gym, and the updated features like stainless steel appliances.

love-hate relationship
Overall, I have enjoyed living at Crowne Oaks compared to other places in the past. The management goes above and beyond to make sure tenants are happy with the complex. Maintenance responds immediately to problems and works hard to fix them. I live in an "updated" apartment, which looks beautiful from the outside, but definitely masks the true age of the building...I've had leaks from the ceiling, my AC has stopped working in the summer, the microwave blew out once. Maintenance has responded very quickly to all these issues, however my electric bill is $150 a month while only living here part time.
You need a car to live here unless you have access to the Wake Forest transit line or plan to Uber everywhere.
My biggest issue with this complex is the electricity outages. This is not necessarily anyones fault, however it's something to be aware of when living here. I have gone 2-5 days without power after rain or snow storms on multiple occasions. I have even lost power from minor wind or when the weather is perfect. I have had to stay with friends in the apartment complex across the street at least three times.
Another issue is the trash. If you live far from the trash can, get ready to drive to it. This is annoying when you pay $1015 otherwise I wouldn't care about the inconvenience.

Decent living situation, but minor complaints
Happy with the apartment and the space overall. My main complaint is that the walls are very thin so my upstairs neighbors often keep me up at night/wake me up during the night. We also have a lot of bugs, which is frustrating considering how much we pay (and we pay for pest control).

Dope on a rope
Pretty quiet - not quite as large as Crowne Polo (fewer residents). Not a ton going on but it's a quiet and calm living area. Super chill and management is very nice.

Good choice for MSA program.
There are a lot of MSA students that historically live here. The apartments are fairly large especially for the price, and it is in close proximity to campus.

Great place to live
The shuttle runs from school to the Crowne Oaks community and makes it easy for those who don't have a parking permit or car. Also, if there is something wrong in the apartment, the staff at the leasing office responds fairly quickly.
