Crowne Oaks

The apartment office is nice and helpful, good maintenance, free parking, pets friendly, with swimming pool, printers and gym. Also with Black line shuttle stops and less than 5 mins drive to campus. Rent does not include washer and dryer, internet, gas and water. Easy process, $200 deposit, and about $150 application fee for wake students. Oaks is smaller (not the room, the entire apartment) than polo and park but cheaper and closer to the campus. If you are sensitive to the noise, avoid the side near the outside road. Someone would say polo and park with little bit newer decoration but it seems not much different to me.

Convenient and Safe Place to Live

Great Apartment - price has gone up a bit recently, but still a good deal. Seems safe and clean. Management is great.

I really have enjoyed living in Crowne Oaks but for those that are not familiar with Winston-Salem, you need to come in with the right expectations. The apartments are a great space and I think are quite large for the cost of rent compared to downtown apartments. However, just know that you are not within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and the downtown scene. That is a quick 10-minute car ride but if you are prioritizing living close to campus, this is a great place to live.

I love the Crowne Oaks (aka CROAKES). Management is very timely. Maintenance is friendly. The pool is great in the summer. Value is fantastic. Clean, friendly, affordable.

The area is fine but can be boring. Living right off Silas Creek with all the car dealerships is no fun. Not a hip and young neighborhood. Outside walls are thin. My bedroom in next to outdoor stairs that lead up to the upstairs apartment and I can hear everything through the walls. That part sucks so much actually.

My apartment in Crowne Oaks is spacious and clean. Many other classmates also live in the complex and it is a short drive to campus. I have really enjoyed living here.

Affordable option in an ideal position. If I was going to do it all over again I would choose this same complex.

I live alone in a single room apartment. The maintenance people are very responsive and help you fix anything quickly. It's a pretty standard apartment. You are required to rent a washer-dryer, get your own internet, and pay all utilities separate.
