Maplewood Apartments

Fully-furnished modern apartment in neat condition, beautiful inside and outside. Has an in-unit washer and dryer. The bathroom or shower cubicle is too small and is not ensuite. The apartment temperature control is centralized. The gym and study area are located at the clubhouse, not in the building. The route to Sage Hall is flatter than from Collegetown and is a 16-20 minute walk. However, the public transport system is not good and may be challenging in bad weather. There's only one bus for that route, which does not operate late and during weekends. I didn't like Maplewood's requirement to pay full months' rent for August, and yet the move-in date was the 20th. I paid extra money to move in on the 15th. This was unfair and didn't make sense for someone who had paid rent for an entire month plus a deposit and administration fee.

Maplewood offers modern amenities and a convenient location near Breazzano and Sage Hall.

Being in Maplewood spares me the extra headspace/effort/hassle needed for paying extra utilities, sharing a bathroom with roommates, and access to the campus. One downside is going downtown will entail friction, but if you like the thought of being able to walk to the campus and being in a relatively more quiet (i.e., no neighbors partying loudly everyday, only some weekends) area, Maplewood is for you.

Bonus: There's central AC/heating so you don't have to worry about getting your own heater. (Just make sure you and your roommates would be on the same page in terms of temperature!)

-Modern and quality finishes (thick walls, great appliances, well-cared for floors, etc).
-Tons of natural light
-Furnished. For townhome: leather couch and chair, tv stand, coffee table, dining table + 4 chairs, 4 bar chairs, 1 bed per bedroom, 1 desk per bedroom, 1 desk chair per bedroom, 2 stackable dressers per bedroom.
-Huge closets, tons of storage
-Maintenance team awesome - always responds immediately
-"Nest" temperature controller in living room - works brilliantly
-Cutest neighborhood!
-Lots of nature and even see deer outside
-Central clubhouse is included: gym (including peloton), mailroom with staff, vending machines, study areas, social areas
-Easy and short walk to / from Sage and Breazzano
-Bus stop at entrance if needed
-Super safe at all hours (literally an oasis)
-Right next to running trails
-Herb garden on property
-Tons of MBAs in here - feels like college in the best way
-Subsidized so it's more affordable (and nicer) than other spots

Monthly rent fee is increasing every year. We are students so that we don’t have a lot of money to support for it

Great place to live if you don't want to bother with furniture.

15 min walk to the engineering quad, nice for students who always work until midnight.
Price is reasonable, and the property is relatively new

Location is fabulous, 15-20 minute walk to engineering buildings on campus. Electricity, water, and internet are taken care of as part of the rent, and one can opt for a parking spot for an extra $100 per month. I live with 2 other roommates, but there is adequate space for all of us, and we each get our own room and bathroom.

Pros:
It is pretty close to campus, especially the engineering departments.
You have your own bathroom and there is a big closet in every room!
I am totally satisfied with the size of the kitchen.
Utilities are included so I don't have to deal with bills.
The place and the neighborhood are very nice.
P&C Fresh is within walking distance (Not that close but close enough for weekly grocery shopping).

Cons:
My room wasn't that clean at move-in time (Although it was clean "enough")
The temperature of different rooms isn't separately controlled.
The lighting is poor. (Like many other housing options)
Around the garbage is messy sometimes (Maybe bothering those living near the garbage)
I can hear outside noises when the window is closed (But the neighborhood is usually quiet)

Overall this is a good living situation. The location is safe, close to campus, and free of anyone besides residents/students. There is a community lobby along with a gym. There is also a bus that goes right from maplewood to campus. Lastly, there is a barber and cafe right next to Maplewood. I have had some issues with the drain in my townhouse, however in my previous apartment here, everything was fine.
