Really social place to live. Nothing that is super amazing per say, but everything is here is pretty solid.

Overall Good Apartment

Good apartment amenities. Wish it was closer to downtown evanston, but it's one of the closest buildings to campus, so that's the tradeoff.

Always clean, packages are easy to pick up, and lots of Kellogg students in building.

Wifi can be spotty sometimes and A/C fan turns off and on, so it's not consistently blowing.

E2 Review (3bd 2 Bath - not the townhome)

Apartments are nice, and amenities (pool, basketball court, gym, movie theater room, grills, property common space) are pretty solid. The 3 bed 2 bath (not townhome) has good space. Walls in the apartment are pretty thin though. Can hear people in other rooms, and loud sounds can pass into other apartments.

Covid has impacted ability to use the gym, as apartments have to reserve times to use the gym. It can be difficult to get a reservation

A lot of Kellogg people in the complex, so makes it easier to naturally meet other students early on.

Haven't had much interaction with the management company. The few minor problems we've had so far (lights out, ac stopped working, etc) were fixed in a short period of time, and with little hassle.

Closer to campus than most other major apartment complexes for Kellogg students. Although its still a 20ish minute walk to Kellogg.

Amazing Social Scene

I love living in E2. If one of your MBA priorities is to make friends, network, and have a great time, E2 is highly recommended. It is a predominantly Kellogg building which builds a great sense of community.

E2 - Review

Overall good experience so far. My fiancee and I were looking to be near other Kellogg students, and E2 can certainly feel like a nearly exclusive Kellogg community. The pool and roof deck on the 4th floor are great hangout spots and it's nice being able to run into people you know since so many Kellogg people live here. We have one of the more affordable units for rent (~$2k/mo. with utilities excluding electric), so our view is not that great compared to other units but overall has been a great place to live. My fiancee and I live in a 1BR so be wary of the storage. We have a walk in closet and one storage closet so be wary of limited storage space if you're planning on doing this. I would recommend packing on the lighter side if you're planning on having 2 people live in a 1BR here.

Kellogg's Unofficial Dorm

Coming from a coastal city with far higher cost of living, E2 has been great for us to afford two bedrooms as a couple. My partner uses the second bedroom as a work-from-home office during COVID, and that's been critical while also taking virtual classes in the main living area.

Amenities are great and onsite parking is a plus, although it costs extra. Biggest downside is noise, but that's the tradeoff with the biggest upside - hundreds of other Kellogg students live in E2 and it's incredibly easy to get ad hoc groups together any time of day / week for social events.

Expensive for the area but worth it

So far I've loved living in E2. It's definitely expensive comparable to other similar units in the area, but it is worth it for the social life, especially given covid. Management is responsive and the building is always clean – I especially appreciate that a contractor will come and fix anything for you within 24 hours if you reporting it broken.

Downtown Evanston Reviews

Downtown Evanston has everything you need. E2 is walkable to campus, a Target, and plenty of restaurants, as well as Metra and L stations to get to Chicago. Right across the street is a Subway, a Thai restaurant, and a pizza place, plus there’s a 7-Eleven about a block away, so you’re very close to options if you need food in a pinch.
Close to downtown Evanston but a bit far from E2/the reserve. One of closest apartments to Trader Joes/Whole Foods/Jewel Osco while also being close to campus. Very close to the lake!
Downtown Evanston has everything you need from a downtown including grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores.
Downtown Evanston is great - plenty of great food within walking distance, Metra and El trains right nearby, a really nice place to be. Only downside is it's far from school and the only truly walkable grocery store is a Whole Foods, which can get expensive. Overall, wouldn't want to live elsewhere though.
Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Very easy access to Lake Michigan as well!
There isn't much to do here, but that's true pretty much everywhere in Evanston. We're in walking distance to all of "downtown" Evanston, so restaurants / fast food / subway, etc. It's a slightly longer walk than desired to Kellogg, but that's fine.
The apartment is central to downtown and is walking distance to most bars, restaurants, shops, beach, etc. Evanston is a bit of a sleepy town (especially during the pandemic...I've been told it was much more vibrant pre-pandemic).
I live just south of the main downtown area, and it's the perfect intersection of being close to the action but also a bit removed when you want some quiet. I like being a in a more residential pocket, so there is slightly less foot traffic and really nice areas to walk around with a dog, etc.
