Nuevo West is a good place to live

I like living in my apartment a lot, I have no complaints. I am allowed to keep my ESA with me. However, I do not really like how small the kitchen and storage space is for 4 people. Plus we only have one fridge, which is small considering the # of people in the apartment.

Mesa Nueva is pretty good as long as you're currently living here

Graduate housing is a very good deal if you already live here. The location is close to campus and the apartments, while a little small, are decently sized. The rent was much cheaper than the surrounding area but there was a major price increase on Oct. 1st. Now the rent price is on par with the surrounding area. The only benefit this complex has is its closeness to campus and the community of grad students if you are a new resident.

Mesa Nueva is pretty good

The apartment is spacious enough. However, The bedrooms are pretty small while the bathrooms are very large. It would be hard to fit a bed bigger than a full in the bedroom if you want a desk or dresser as well. There are 2 bathrooms and only 2 people living here so we each get our own bathroom. There is not a lot of storage space though, so it can be hard to fit both people's items unless you buy your own storage. It does have a washing machine, dryer, and dish washer.

South Mesa top floor is a gem

I live on the top floor of a South Mesa apartment with a roommate. The apartment has very high ceilings, lots of sunlight, and plenty of space. It is a very old apartment so the kitchen appliances and bathrooms are not the best. It is difficult to get the bedrooms to an okay temperature without turning the living room into a sauna. The rent is very cheap though and that plus proximity to campus are the main reasons I choose to live here.

Very comfortable!

I've really enjoyed living in Nuevo West, Viento. I'm in the master bedroom and I have a good amount of space to work with and the room comes furnished with a comfortable desk and bed.

My favorite things include the amount of work space in the kitchen (I like to do a lot of meal prep on our island) and the nice big windows in the living room area, which let in a lot of natural light.

My only major complaints are that the refrigerator is a little small for 4 people and the bedroom doors have a weird locking mechanisms where, after unlocking it, the door can still get caught and lock you out if you don't make sure it's fully unlocked (at least in my apartment).

Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, I haven't been able to take advantage of many of our amenities (pool, gym, etc.), but they are available for all students living in graduate housing and I look forward to using them once the pandemic calms down.

Lots of space in a lovely neighborhood

South Mesa is extremely affordable, and a lovely place to live. My favorite things about living here include: tons of storage space, large outdoor patio, excellent and speedy management team, the hardwood floors, the proximity to campus, the quiet and friendly neighborhood with lots of grass, and how dog friendly it is. My least favorite things: shared washer/dryer facilities not in unit (though they are nice and brand new machines with a phone app) and the exterior look of the buildings (made in 1960s, they are not the prettiest).

Well-planned, brand new apartment

Although relatively small, the floor plan is well thought out and feels spacious. We get plenty of light and air. The kitchen is very large, and there is an amazing amount of counter space. The laundry room is cheap and well-maintained, and there are always machines available. However, there is no dish washer, the stove is electric, and sometimes there is not enough hot water. The apartment came furnished, and the furniture is very nice quality, except for the dining and desk chairs, which are very uncomfortable (and we ended up buying our own to replace them). Otherwise, the desks, couch, TV stand, and bed are all very nice. We cannot hear our neighbors.

Grad housing

Very well insulated for temperature and noise. The orange interior and exterior are annoying. The COVID regulations are strict and inflexible. Amazon locker and COVID testing very close to the site is convenient.

I'd stay until I graduate if I could!

If you want to live by yourself, I can't recommend anything more than the Mesa Nueva studios. They are the most affordable studios I've ever seen for rent, and all utilities are included. They're small (and fully furnished), but since I'm from out of state I don't have a lot of furniture and things to clutter up the space anyway. My studio is the perfect size for just me.

I had an old electric kettle that would occasionally flip the circuit breaker, and when I called the maintenance people to come and unlock my circuit breaker for me, they have always arrived within an hour and have been very helpful and friendly.

There are a couple really minor things that make me give this space a 9/10 instead of 10/10: there is no in-unit laundry, there is no dishwasher, and the hours for the mailroom's package pick-up service are really inconvenient. All of these are pretty minor inconveniences though, and if the lease didn't have a 2 year maximum, I would stay until I graduated.
