One Miramar Housing Experience - New MS CS Grad
Hey whoever is reading this, I am sure you are very interested in knowing how housing is. One thing, don't expect it to be a home, it is what you make it to be. When I moved in, I had unrealistic expectations, but later I realized its not the space I am living in, but the space I make it to be. If you are an international student, bring your spices, some food supplies, basic house and kitchen amenities with yourself or mail them earlier than your arrival. You will have a bathroom, a fridge, kitchen space, water (Drinking and washing), internet (you have to set it up or your apartmentmate might do it for you) and electricity after your arrival. You will be given an empty room, try to make it as homely as possible for yourself, because you would be living in it for a long time. If sharing your room, and if you are thinking of having a closet, bed frame etc, make sure it does not occupy a lot of space because you would need to fit in a table for yourself for study and also give your roommate enough space. Staff and Management is nice, you would be seeing families and some pets. Be nice to people and help them if they ask you to.

Good for living
Plenty spaces, quiet neighborhood. Style is quite different from other grad housing, though, less like a student housing but more like an apartment neighborhood for me.
No air conditioner, not allowed to have one. Public washing machine. Fridge provided, also oven.

Affordable Dorm-Style Apartment
Definitely one of the more affordable grad housing, with reasonable facilities and helpful maintenance. However, you probably have to live with a flatmate with a shared living space, kitchen, and bathroom; the walls are also very thin so a lot of the experience depends on your relationship with them. No dishwasher or in-unit laundry, but there are two laundry rooms in OMS which are generally kept clean and maintained well. The buildings are also a bit older, so there are sometimes some small pests (ants, spiders, etc), and the rooms tend to get a bit stuffy, but the windows can be opened for much of the SD weather.

OMS - one of the best grad housing
The apartment is very open, with windows in each room and a balcony. The lights were quite yellowish, which we managed to get fixed. For electricity, we need to pay separately. It is close to the grad housing pantry and the shuttle stop. The kitchen comes with some basic utility fridge, oven, and inductions. The apartments are unfurnished, so you will have to buy your furniture.
