Highland Towers Review
If location and convenience is your top priority along with good views of Birmingham then Highland Towers may be an option for you. The only negatives have been the elevators and subpar communal laundry rooms (there are no in-residence hook-ups for washer and dryer). I do my laundry at my girlfriend's apartment. The elevators have since been fixed and work fine. I've gotten used to the traffic noise from 280 at this point as i've lived in the same studio for almost 2 years now.

Good price, bad neighbors
For the first six months I lived here, it was a great place to live and I felt very safe moving around the property at all hours. Now, more than a year later, the neighbor hood has shifted a lot. There are a lot of noise and domestic disturbance issues in the apartment, as well as a lot of drug issues with neighbors (weed smell outside constantly, crack pipes left on the stairs, etc). There was also a recent murder in the other apartment building. I would not recommend anyone move in here with he current crowd that lives in the neighborhood.
