Great place for 1st year med student
As someone who has only ever lived in rural areas, 20 Midtown has made adjusting to downtown living easy. Buildings 1 and 2 have very secure gated deck parking with plenty of covered spots (Building 3 does as well, but you have to pay for it). Location is the reason I chose to live here, and it has proven to be a great spot with Publix downstairs, eateries across the street, and a short ~18 minute walk to Volker Hall with an optional route through the hospital, great for especially hot/cold days. Rent is a bit pricey if you plan to live alone, and we chose the cheapest 1 bed/1 bath option available at the time, but I've found it spacious enough for my needs. If you are a light sleeper, be warned that there is a lot of street noise at night if you live on the street side of the hallway. Pets are allowed for a monthly pet fee. Maintenance is pretty on top of requests. Current office staff is friendly and helpful, although when I first moved in they were not great and had lots of hiring turnover. Joy and Brie have been especially helpful! Mail and rooms are very secure, utilizing a digital system for access. Mail will be left in the elevator lobby if the lockers are full, but I haven't had any problems with lost mail.
