The Ideal

Great apartment complex with a friendly and attentive staff. I wish the parking was cheaper, but Madison is a pricey town for parking in general. The additional storage units and the third flor gym are also nice to have.

Near bus stop, fifteen minute walk to class, good access to lake trail and Arboretum. Easy on street parking and grocery store short drive away. Small gym in the apartment bldg.

Great location. 10-15 minute walk to Grainger or a 5 minute bus ride from a very close bus stop. Great space for hosting events and also has a small gym on the premise that is free for residents. It's outside of the social parameter and between two major hospitals in Madison.

Spacious and affordable. Friendly management. Easy bus route nearby and easy walk to Grainger or to tail gates during football season or to the basketball arena. Quiet building with friendly neighbors, very secure, packages left at door have never been an issue. In-unit washer and dryer and nice appliances with a big kitchen. Great for roommates since rooms are across the living room and not next to one another. Only con is the cross-fit gym on the first floor can be noisy.

The Ideal is a nice and new building. There aren’t some of the amenities of downtown apartments, but you get a bigger apartment. All the appliances are new and the management team is helpful. Plus, if you have a dog, the apartments are pet friendly and you’re close to nearby parks.

I really enjoy living at the Ideal! The apartments are stylish and spacious with lots of space for storage. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment and have a roommate who is also a fellow Badger. We both find the location of the IDeal to be very convenient for catching a local bus (bus stop within the block) and a 10-15 min walk to Grainger on any given day (even with the snow).

The staff is also super nice and helpful. For instance, we ran into some noise issues with a local business below. The staff and owners were very accomodating, compensate us for the discomfort and have been very hands on with resolving the issue.

If you are looking for a cozy, well kept, convenient place that has reasonable rates compared to many apartment complexes in the area. Check out this place!

Nice, Updated Unit

The Ideal Apartments have been great. It's located in the Vilas neighborhood, and is right across the street from Monona Bay. Because the apartments aren't located right downtown, you get a little more space, and the benefit of a nice residential neighborhood. The staff are friendly and helpful, and maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner.

In addition, walking to campus only takes about 15 minutes, and there are bus lines within 2-3 minutes of the residence.

Spacious Apartment, Great Locality, Better as compared to similarly priced apartments

I'll start with the fact that this building looks like a hotel- it is THAT NICE. I've had several people give me that reaction when first entering. There is a lot of space, especially compared to other apartments downtown. Because the building is only 2 years old, everything is up to date, nice, and clean. I would definitely recommend living here.

The only con is that it is not super close to State street and local bars (by that I mean about 1.5 miles away), however it is right on the bus line.
